U.S. presence in Iraq is destabilising - Mubarak
Source: Reuters

CAIRO, Feb 11 (Reuters) - Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak said on Monday the presence of U.S. and other foreign forces in Iraq was attracting terrorists and threatening security and stability in the region, state news agency MENA reported.

Mubarak, who has previously said U.S. forces should stay in Iraq to prevent a descent into anarchy, was speaking to Egyptian editors on his plane to Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates.

"President Mubarak warned against the continuation of the American presence in Iraq," the agency said.

"He said that the presence of U.S. and foreign forces in Iraq would lead to pulling in terrorists from everywhere and threatening security and stability in the area," it added.

3. In this case it's not what was said, but rather who is saying it.
I was slightly surprised to see President Mubarak finally say these words. Even though I don't doubt he's believed them to be true for some time now.

6. I'm sure . . . .
that this has been obvious to most Middle Easterners from the beginning. But just try convincing the Bush regime of it.

7. But that was stated as our mission and in fact called it the "Flypaper Strategy"
Supposedly that is what we are over there doing. Trying to attract all the terrorist so we can fight them over there instead of over here... Destablize the region? Hell that is the entire purpose....

8. That's insidious...
And we just happened to pick Iraq (where Hussein humiliated Pappy) as the country in which to have this final showdown.

Well... we're doing a great job of attracting the terrorists. I think new ones are being "born" with every gun we fire and every bomb we drop.
