Serious Voter Fraud Charges in SF Mayor's Race
Serious Voter Fraud Charges in SF Mayor's Race

A full-scale investigation is underway into serious charges of voter fraud in San Francisco's mayoral election.

A San Francisco Chronicle investigation uncovered accusations that nine people from the non-profit gardening group SLUG were forced to do work for Gavin Newsom's campaign, and pressured into voting for him for mayor -- told that their jobs with the city would be in danger if they didn't cooperate.

The Chronicle reports that this occurred while the people were contracted by the Department of Public Works. They claim the deputy public works director Mohammed Nuru and the executive director of SLUG, Jonathan Gomwalk, applied the pressure.

12. Wrong, cheaters cheat and they exist in all walks of life
And it obvious that Newson is one of them.

22. If Willie Brown was in the vicinity
it was more than possible, if you get my drift. It's all good though!

3. We must demand an investigation!
The problem is that any investigation into Gary Newsom's life will also reveal his true sexual orientation and the Rock Hudson-type marriage that he has.

Everytime the voters choose a faux-liberal over a true liberal, the voters will loose. The voters lost with Newsom!

8. Who cares about his sexual orientation or marriage?
I'm not a Newsom supporter but the "Rock Hudson" marriage crack is really a cheap shot. :wow: Let's take the high road here...just as Matt Gonzalez suggested on election night.

9. Newsom is a fraud!
Edited on Fri Jan-16-04 07:03 PM by IndianaGreen
The only question that remains is how much of a crook he is.

On edit:

Newsom's sexual orientation is an open secret in SF.

13. Might be an open secret in Indiana
But that's the first I've heard of it, living here in SF.

15. It's an "open secret"
being spread far and wide by a San Francisco DUer who, for some reason, wants to believe it. I also live in San Francisco and it is yet another bizarre case of "progressives" seeking to smear somebody that they do not like by calling them gay and refusing to acknowledge what terrible harm using sexual orientation as a smear tactic does to the gay community.

Gavin Newsome, to the best of my knowledge, is straight. If he isn't, that's still 100% his business.

14. Do you suppose...
...there was a double meaning in Matt's concession speech re "taking the high road"? NoNoNoNoNoNoNo, I don't mean any question of Newson's orientation (which would be news to me too) -- I mean: Do you think Matt may have been wise to a little voter fraud going on, and has been biding his time, knowing this story was bound to come out?

"Come out" -- Again, I mean the fraud story, not Newsom. LOL

10. It's Gavin, not Gary
And seeing as how you cant even get his name right, what makes you think you know his sexual orientation? And why does it matter????

20. Are we promoting homophobia? His gayness would be a non issue
in SF anyway.

5. Sounds like a Willie Brown operation
This has Willie's stench all over it. Without Newsom, Willie's cronies would have already been shown the door by Matt Gonzales.

this is VERY Willie Brown!

This story first surfaced a few days ago -- I'm curious to see how this plays out.

7. We've been using...
OptiScan for at least for years now. Nice big paper ballots that we hand-mark and then fed into a machine. Not perfect, but we have paper to fall back on.
