Crimes by Homeland Security agents stir alert
Source: MiamiHerald.com

U.S. Customs and Border Protection is supposed to stop these types of crimes. Instead, so many of its officers have been charged with committing those crimes themselves that their boss in Washington recently issued an alert about the "disturbing events" and the "increase in the number of employee arrests."

Thomas S. Winkowski, assistant commissioner of field operations, wrote a memo to more than 20,000 officers nationwide noting that employees must behave professionally at all times -- even when not on the job.

"It is our responsibility to uphold the laws, not break the law," Winkowski wrote in the Nov. 16 memo obtained by The Miami Herald.

Winkowski's memo cites employee arrests involving domestic violence, DUI and drug possession. But court records show Customs officers and other Department of Homeland Security employees from South Florida to the Mexican border states have been charged with dozens of far more serious offenses.

8. Bushies, like the Nazis before them, are automatically immune from scrutinty.
jyst being a Bushie or Nazi, to the Bushies and Nazis who run/ran things, makes a person noble and above suspicion...except if the accuser are other Party Members.

12. Surely now almost the entire Federal apparatus has been politicized, and hence wholly corrupted,
that maybe only a few agencies are even trying to fulfill their missions: it's like pissing away several hundred dollars each year all the while we the people are not being protected by those charged with that responsibility. :grr:

Fair justice; Former officers fall under federal guidelines
By JASON BUCH , LAREDO MORNING TIMES

The federal court in Laredo has handed down prison sentences to at least seven former law enforcement officials since October, all of who admitted to taking bribes while wearing the badge. On the high end of those sentences is Julio Alfonso Lopez.

The former deputy commander of the Laredo Multi-Agency Narcotics Task Force pleaded guilty in July to one count of conspiracy to interfere with commerce under color of official right.

In October, U.S. District Judge George P. Kazen sentenced Lopez to more than eight years in prison.

Close to the middle of that sentence range is Henry James Jr., a former La Salle County sheriff's deputy. He pleaded guilty in October to extortion under color or official right.
