Radio host Michael Savage's suit against Islamic group in court

A federal judge said Friday that she was leaning toward tossing out conservative radio talk show host Michael Savage's copyright theft lawsuit against an Islamic lobbying group who used portions of the popular program to solicit donations and call for an advertising boycott of "The Savage Nation."

U.S. District Judge Susan Illston said she would likely let Savage's attorney submit a revised lawsuit in attempt to keep the case alive, but she found the other side's arguments "persuasive."

Savage sued the Council on American-Islamic Relations, or CAIR, after it posted on its Web site a 4-minute clip of Savage's two-hour show on Oct. 29 in which the talk show host called the Quran a "book of hate."

CAIR placed the clip next to an area to make donations and its call to boycott "The Savage Nation" show heard by as many as 8 million listeners a day. The Washington D.C.-based group said it and allied organizations have convinced more than a dozen companies, including Wal-Mart Stores Inc., GEICO insurance company and Sprint Nextel Corp., to withhold advertising from the show.

Toilet boy (Flush Limbaugh) used to have over 20 million listeners a week, sadly it took over 20 years but his numbers are definitely on the decline...

comes to hatred. I've heard Wiener on a few occasions while waiting to pick up my son from work...i could stomach about 5 minutes...the hatred was simply too much to take...but I had to find out what all of the talk was about.

Savage/Wiener is pure crap, if he has a heart, it is a small lump of frigid coal.

for about ten minutes at a time, just when I'm in a strange mood and I want to listen to someone losing his mind.

But then again, I've been known to listen to just about anyone's crazy rantings for a few minutes.

and kudos to the judge for realizing this is a bogus lawsuit. If someone on the public airwaves says my holy book is a book of hate, I have a right to let others know. And how better to show it wasn't a fabrication by simply using the person's own words? Savage shows himself to be quite ignorant.

KSFO recently had to give Melanie Morgan the boot due to "across-the-board budget cuts mandated by our parent company."

Spocko, who was one of the bloggers leading the effort to boycott KSFO Hate Radio, weighs in on Morgan's departure:

"'KSFO was unable to renew Melanie's contract because of across-the-board budget cuts mandated by our parent company' Hmmm. How passive voice of them. How... emotionless.

I'm going to write much more about this in the future but if there are any media people who want my comments, drop me a line. I have LOTS of things to say and a few questions that I'd like to get answers for myself regarding this "non-contract renewal".

Right now I'd like people to notice a few things about this.

Sure Citadel can talk about generic "across the board cuts" because they don't have to break out WHO was costing them how much money. And I'm sure Morgan's supporters may decide it is a conspiricy by the liberals to get conseratives off the radio, but Morgan has no one to blame but herself for the station losing money which led to her contract not being renewed. All her future employers might want to notice this.

It was the advertisers who chose to go elsewhere rather than be associated with her and her co-hosts. We simply reflected back to the sponsors what the hosts were saying on their dime. Smart companies like Visa, MasterCard, Bank of America, FedEX, Borders Books, In and Burger and CSAAA all left KSFO when they realized that they didn't want their brand tainted by these kind of comments."
