Brady and his Patriots teammates "have made an impact in their community by hosting a sports camp for local youth," according to the White House.

1. I hope those Bush bastards don't jinx the Pats.
If they lose the Super Bowl, I know exactly who to blame.

2. say it ain't so Tom
but I guess you can't pass on this kind of an invite when your a pro athlete, especially 2 weeks before the Super Bowl.
Think of all the press THAT would get.

3. Noooooooooooo! I was hoping it meant *Peter* Brady....
Edited on Tue Jan-20-04 08:28 PM by KamaAina
it sure as hell couldn't've been James Brady...

Has anyone told Pickles that St. Rushbo referred to Brady's Pats as "socialists" during their previous Super Bowl run, because they insisted on being announced as a team rather than the usual "At quarterback, from Pickles' dressing room, number 12, Tom Brady!"? Golly gee, I can't for the life of me see why Pickles would invite a socialist to the big speech! </sarcasm>

Great. I can now spend the next two weeks deciding whether to root for Pickles' prom date, or a cheesy expansion team from Jesse Helms-land. Man, oh man, Will's gonna bang his head against the nearest wall when he sees this...

Edit: Can't even spell my quasi-Bushisms. "Counldn't've", indeed. Oh well, maybe they can still find a way to win without glorifying Young Bush*, like a couple of Ty Law picks for TD...

4. He should have said "NO"
As I am from Boston, this is not going to go over well here. The thing that sickens me is that we all know * is going to use Tom in some way. Grrr...:kick:

I'm sure I read (here) that Brady hosted a fundraiser for Kerry a couple of years ago.

and will try to portray this as Brady switching his allegiance to Bush. If he is a Dem/Kerry supporter, perhaps he felt saying no would've been rude.

9. Maybe California,too
He's from San Mateo(I believe)and that's where he lives in the off-season. I'm sure he's a Dem,though...I remember reading that, and that he might want to go into politics when his football career is over.

21. San Mateo's Golden Boy
I lived in San Mateo in 84. Tom's dad was the coach on my son's first little league team. My son and Tommy had a real rivalry going for the season they played together. At least my boy thought so.

Tommy was so impressive even then. But it was his father who made a real impression on me. His leadership style, and the way he worked so hard to enrich the experience for every kid on the team.

I for one was not surprised Tommy has made it this far. He might even turn out to be one of the all time greats. It could happen.

GO TOMMY!!

warmonger husband.

He is a macho, tough guy image that gets paid a whole lot of money to throw a ball around. I mean you got Bush connected almost mystically to this sport--you got him connected to Jesus, and then probably the two combined at some point in the game, and do not forget the military images in the last super bowel, military jets, F16
s, flying overhead the twenty or so old grey and white heads in uniform down there on the fifty yard line looking real military and tough at a --at a--at a---why, at a football game!! and then the singing of the anthem--hell, no fascist could ask for anything more--evey wonder why the anthem is sung at a sports event? What does it have to do with a football game?

Maybe this year's half time event will be a gospel choir singing hymns to Jesus to help them kill more people in the middle east.

10. Go Panthers!
YOu don't want Bush to be happy, do you?

Now that the administration has let known who they prefer, I would pay special attention to the officiating in the game.
