Verdict Is Delayed in Trial Of Hamburg Man to Check Credibility of Testimony

BERLIN -- In a last-ditch effort to convince judges that a Hamburg resident aided the Sept. 11 attacks in the U.S., German prosecutors Wednesday presented a statement from a self-confessed Iranian spy indicating that Iran knew something of the attacks before they took place.

The evidence -- in which a man identified only by his Iranian code name of Hamid Reza Zakeri also says Iran participated in a bombing of a U.S. barracks in Saudi Arabia -- has yet to be accepted by the court as credible. A U.S. official said Wednesday that Washington is aware of Mr. Zakeri's claims and that they should be viewed with skepticism. "We don't have any information to suggest Iran knew about Sept. 11 in advance," the official said.

Mr. Zakeri also showed German police a copy of a message dated June 6, 2001, from the head of Mr. Zakeri's unit, warning Iranian agents to be in full readiness on Sept. 1, 2001, because the U.S. would be provoked soon thereafter.

Mr. Zakeri said he left Iran illegally on July 26, 2001 and offered his services to the Central Intelligence Agency at the U.S. embassy in Baku, Azerbaijan. He said he told the U.S. there would be a major al Qaeda attack on the U.S. on Sept. 10, the statement said. Mr. Zakeri told German police he had learned of this from his boss, on July 16 or 17, 2001. According to the statement, the U.S. officials sent him away because he demanded $1.2 million. A CIA spokeswoman said the agency doesn't comment on court cases.

to the Emperor telling him that something was "in the works" prior to 9/11. The criminal shit just ignored them. So what if Iran knew something was up? Seems everyone but the gibbering gimp knew.

I should point out that if this person's story is true, we can add Iran to a long list of countries that knew something about the 9/11 attacks in advance.

Argentina
Britain
Cayman Islands
Egypt
France
Germany
Israel
Italy
Jordan
Morocco
Russia

Since I've written that essay, more evidence has come to light that Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, Iraq, and the Northern Alliance in Afghanistan also had some knowledge of the attack beforehand.

And now Iran.

True, some of these claims may be too vague or BS. But still, it seems incredible that so many governments knew so much EXCEPT the US! The Bush Administration still maintains they were 95% certain the next al-Qaeda attack would happen overseas.

Seems like we were the only ones who truly didn't know.

Today the court wanted to hear the officials who interrogated the mysterious Iranian witness.

"The new witness for the prosecution is a former Iranian intelligence agent, according to Mzoudi’s lawyers. A police officer who interrogated the man said the witness claimed to have received an e-mail in which Mzoudi is named as a member of the outside circle of the Hamburg terrorist cell around Sept. 11 hijacker Mohammed Atta.



According to the police officer’s testimony, the e-mail mentioned a person, who is on trial in Germany and has been released to help law enforcement authorities in their search for further members of the terrorist cell. That’s why al Qaeda was allegedly planning to “eliminate” Mzoudi, the officer said.



He added that the Iranian intelligence agent had asked for money to testify against Mzoudi. “He said he had to make a living,” the officer said. Allegedly the agent warned U.S. authorities of planned terrorist attacks prior to Sept. 11."
