Letter carrier catches falling baby
Source: CNN

ALBANY, New York (AP) -- A postal worker is credited with saving a 1-year-old girl's life by catching her after the baby fell out of a second-story window in Albany, New York.

Lisa Harrell was delivering mail to a home late Monday morning when she noticed a baby in a window above the front door. Harrell says the next thing she knew, the baby had fallen into her arms.

When the baby's mother realized what had happened, she ran outside and grabbed the girl from Harrell. The woman thanked Harrell and then ran down the street to her mother's house.

Wonder what religious beliefs that mom has, it seems to work. :O

1. I saw this on TV... What an amazing story. What are the odds that someone...
who wasn't even supposed to have been at that house, was there to catch this lucky little one?

8. Maybe. Is the kid's name Damien?
And did his nanny commit suicide just a week ago?

I'll bet he's related to the Bushes.

12. I would have to agree...
and they aren't a future "boooooooosh" either. The Universe will be much kinder to us, at least for awhile.

4. Carrier will probably get written up by her no good supervisor for
dereliction of duty (should have been delivering mail, not playing with children)

7. You must work for the Post Office -
x( certainly sounds like what would happen (that and they'd shave off 15 minutes of her projected delivery time b/c that's what she would have saved had she not stopped to go 'save some baby').

10. Doubtful. My father had a bad fall on the ice in his driveway last month
he couldn't get up and a letter carrier came to his assistance and got him back into his home. My dad wrote a letter of thanks to the post office and the carrier was given a small party by his supervisor in recognition of his good Samaritanism. Later, the carrier stopped by my father's home and thanked him for writing to his supervisor. He had tears in his eyes when he told him about the speech his supervisor gave, and how he had read my father's letter to all of his coworkers. They aren't all horrible.
