CIA planning for al-Qaida 'succession crisis'

The question is who will replace bin Laden if he's caught or killed
updated 3:51 p.m. ET, Tues., May. 27, 2008

WASHINGTON - The U.S. is making "a big and continual push" to capture or kill al-Qaida leader Osama bin Laden, but his demise won't end the organization's menace, CIA Director Michael Hayden said Tuesday in an Associated Press interview.

The CIA is equally interested in those jockeying to replace bin Laden in what he predicted will be a "succession crisis."

"It will be really interesting to see how that plays out. The organization is a lot more networked than it is ruthlessly hierarchical," Hayden said of the group behind the 9/11 attacks on the U.S. "How do you pick the next overall leader?"

"It will be really interesting to see how that plays out...."

Well that's an understatement...What will Homeland Security/Patriot Act do without bin laden? Or without Bush/Cheney/Chertoff? Pardon me while I cough up all the distaste from all the fake bin laden intelligence since 9/11.

Remember, Bush privatized most sources of gathering intelligence. Is 'Intel Du Jour' on its way out along with this criminal administration?

What are we to expect after Jan 2009? Or will an 'October surprise' be an additional affirmation and continuation of the Patriot Act no matter what the next President decides?

Bush/Cheney and Republicans/Dems have taken campaign contributions from the 'New Wave Economy', aka = Homeland Security, Surveillance, Databanks, SWAT Forces, lethal and non-lethal weapons, RFID, VERICHIP, etc.

SO MANY CORPORATIONS WANT ASSURANCES, a permanent place in the Homeland Security's budget, as they have received since Bush took office. So many 'new security' companies NEED Al Qaeda more than we could ever imagine.

WHO IS Al Qaeda, exactly? Are we going to be hostage to this intelligence racket forever?

(Last week, the US House approved $600 Billion for Pentagon spending, even after hearing the Pentagon can NOT account for $15 Billion missing from last year? 85% of Americans are against the war. Have the Democrats lost their minds? Do the Democrats need Bin Laden, too?)

9. Always a chance.....in fact more than ever they have a reason to
really try, if they do it probably would give the republicans a rally point, if they dont then McCain will (hopefully) be steamrolled over this election by either Obama or Hillary.

Kill him Hayden - one thing we ALL agree on.

11. Maybe - the world turned upside down -
the song they played at Yorktown during the surrender - isn't it??

Osama Bin Laden - I want him dead- no prisoner - I want him dead. Straight up.

You know one of the reasons I like Obama - he said flat out -catch his ass in Pakistan - and we will shoot him. Man - this just has to get done. There is no dipolmacy once you kill our people - just justice.

This is very much vigillante justice now - he killed our people -he is one man - and he is a dead man. Maybe not under Bu*h - but he will be under a democrat.

This whole war in Iraq was so stupid - but that doesn't mean any more than that. He killed our guys - he is dead. I have no issue with Iraq or anyone else - I do with the murderer of Americans.

That is why they lose you know - I think - they did not - could not understand plain Americans.
That is surely going to change right now.

13. You mean the CIA's Skull&Bones division, right?
Damn drug traffickers going wayyyyyy back in time. The Arms Deals seem to fall into the same catagory and laundry system. Now it's 'white collar' and it's as American as apple pie.

7. Is it possible we're going to spend our way
into oblivion chasing a phantom menace? It's been over 5 years and we've got nothing except the beginnings of a police state and debt as far as you can see and money that's becoming more useless by the day.
