Four held in Dutch hostage siege

AMSTERDAM, Netherlands (AP) -- Dutch national broadcaster NOS reports that an armed man has taken four people hostage in the city of Almelo.

NOS says a cafe owner who is involved in a legal fight with the city is suspected of taking a city council member and three other people hostage.

The report says that the man set fire to his cafe before driving to town hall and entering the building.

The reports said the man was the manager of a restaurant adjoining the town hall, who had lost his licence in a conflict with the municipality.
