18 Cubans seized by gunmen in Mexico reach Texas

MEXICO CITY — Mexican officials said today that at least 18 Cubans have reached Texas more than a week after masked gunmen hijacked an immigration bus in southern Mexico and seized them.

Mexico's Attorney General's Office said in a statement that the U.S. Border Patrol detained the immigrants in Hidalgo County in Texas.

At least six masked gunmen hijacked the bus along a remote jungle highway June 11. They forced seven unarmed immigration agents and two drivers to get off before they fled with 33 Cubans and four Central Americans who were being taken to a detention center for undocumented migrants.

The bus was later found abandoned.

It was unclear what happened to the remaining immigrants.

The Attorney General's Office said that the Cubans used fake Mexican identifications to reach the U.S. border.

Could've been someone (or several) that the CANF or Alpha 66 wanted in Miami. Could even be some of their terrorist operatives leaving Cuba now that Cuban security uncovered the funding stream from terrorists in Miami, via the US interests section. Now Cuba limits remittances from the US to direct family members only - following US remittance laws to the letter. With the US's Wet Foot/Dry Foot policy for Cubans only, all they have to do is make it to the border. No matter who they are or what their criminal background might be, its of no consequence for Cubans only. I'll bet dollars to doughnuts that they'll be "heroes" in Miami within 48 - 72 hours.
