Count Murphy Out for McCain Campaign

Mike Murphy, the long-time associate and friend of John McCain who had been rumored to be joining the McCain campaign, said this morning he was not going to do it.

In an interview, Mr. Murphy said the raft of speculation was threatening Mr. McCain’s campaign and he wanted to put an end to it.

“I’m not expecting to join the campaign,” he said. “I’m trying to kill and end all this stuff.”

Mr. Murphy and Mr. McCain have long been close. Mr. Murphy, however, has had tense relations with many other members of Mr. McCain’s circle, who reportedly resisted the notion of Mr. Murphy joining as a chief strategist.

The only thing worse for a campaign than the chaos of staff shakeups is the chaos without the shakeup..

2. Not that alarming, I don't think.

It's no stretch to assume that Kristol (I can barely get my fingers to type that) would have either some insight or sources into the right wing camp. And, if it was just supposition on his part, well.....even a blind pig finds an occasional truffle.

that pigs don't find truffles with their eyes, they root them up with their noses. I do however agree that Kristal is a pig.
