Half of UK forces 'ready to quit'
Source: BBC

BBC

Almost half of UK military personnel are ready to leave the forces, a Ministry of Defence survey suggests.

Some 47% of Army and Royal Navy respondents and 44% of those in the RAF said they regularly felt like quitting.

Among the concerns raised by the 9,000 servicemen and women surveyed were the frequency of tours, levels of pay and the quality of equipment and housing.

The Ministry of Defence said the survey revealed "areas of concern" but that conditions were being improved.

1. IMO
The British Navy has a big leg up on our Navy in that they actually can go have drinks aboard their ship. Our Sailors are limited to possibly two beers at mid deployment if they are lucky. Now I have been out of the Nav for over 10 years so maybe things have changed.

3. Two Beers after 90 stright days at sea.
Most ships will try to pull in prior to allowing that.

4. I hate the army and I hate the RAF
I don’t wanna go fighting in the tropical heat
I hate the civil service rules
And I won’t open letter bombs for you

Career opportunities, the ones that never knock
Every job they offer you is to keep out the dock
Career opportunities, the ones that never knock
