Ex-Bush aide claims 'Swing Vote' stolen from him
Source: Associated Press

A former presidential aide claims in a lawsuit filed Thursday that plot and marketing elements of the Kevin Costner and Kelsey Grammer movie "Swing Vote" were stolen from him.

Political commentator Bradley Blakeman, a former deputy assistant to President Bush for appointments and scheduling, said in the lawsuit that he gave a copyrighted screenplay entitled "Go November" to Grammer in 2006.

The lawsuit, filed in federal court on Long Island, claims Grammer agreed to develop the project and star as an incumbent Republican president but ended up portraying a similar role in "Swing Vote," which was released Aug. 1.

A spokesman for Grammer and his production company, both named in the lawsuit, dismissed the claims as frivolous.

"I am not sure why Kelsey was even named in this suit," spokesman Stan Rosenfield wrote in an e-mail. "He was an actor who signed on to the project AFTER the script was written."

3. Is irony dead?
Blakeman v. Grammer - maybe it will make it all the way to the Supreme Court.

4. Kelsey Grammer is a Repuke piece of shit. I don't care who wins or loses this lawsuit...
I'll just be glad if it makes Grammer's life difficult for a while.

6. Kelsey Grammer has experienced about as much tragedy in life as a dozen people
Including having his sister abducted, raped, and murdered by a roving band of thugs.

I'm neutral about Kelsey Grammer the actor, but your wish that Grammer's life be made "difficult" shows what a sewer you must live in.

9. I live in the hellish sewer the Repukes have created for us.
I had no idea how tragic Grammer's life has been so far.

Explains why he suffers from Republican Thought Disorder.

8. Can't sue over an idea. If he has a script that was stolen, fine, that's very different.
but if he mentioned this to someone at a party or even in a meeting, it's not intellectual property until it's registered with the screen writers guild.

Trust me, I completely know of what I speak. I went through a very very very very similar thing about 17 years ago.
