Bush Fell Asleep During Super Bowl, Didn't See Controversial Halftime Show
WASHINGTON (AP) - The early-to-bed president missed the Super Bowl's risque halftime show. But George W. Bush's spokesman said Monday the administration was concerned that the display wasn't family-friendly.

I don't want to admit it, but because this White House starts early, I missed it - again," Bush told reporters after a Cabinet meeting. "Saw the first half, did not see the half time - I was preparing for the day and fell asleep."

"But you all can tell me about it," he joked to reporters.

Half time started before 8:30 p.m. EST. Sunday.

The halftime show concluded with singer Justin Timberlake tearing off part of Janet Jackson's costume, exposing her right breast. Timberlake blamed a "wardrobe malfunction."

53. Right...
I remember hearing on the news yesterday, and I can't remember who, was invited to the WH to watch the game with him...Does anyone remember? You mean to tell me the moron invited someone to watch the game, then he "gets tired" and leaves the guest to watch the game alone? NO WAY did he go to bed early!!! More likely, he got shitfaced!

6. Bizarre
I thought he was watching the Superbowl with brother Marv and Commerce Secretary Don Evans, plus their families...

http://www.superbowl.com/news/story/7055259

So, what, did he invite them over and then ignore them to go prepare for the following day before falling asleep?

Or did he just fall asleep on the couch next to Don Evans?

8. or possibly
he lied about watching it with Evans and lied about falling asleep before half time. Of course there's no real reason to lie about these things, but he seems to lie about everything, big or small ("did I just see Air Force One?")

14. I think
he just didn't want to admit that he'd seen it, because then the reporters would want him to comment on it. It's much easier for him to just say "oh, that, yeah, I fell asleep," than to have to answer questions about Janet Jackson's breasts.

But I bet he did see it - and even if he didn't see it live, he must have seen it on cable news this morning. Unless of course Bush doesn't read the newspapers AND doesn't watch Fox News.

Somebody should ask Marvin or Don Evans if *they* saw it :)

Okaaaaaaaaaaaaaaayyyyyyyyyyyy, so when was it that he dozed off? Had he gone to bed for the night while company was still there? Were they asked to leave earlier than expected because his lordship wanted to go to bed?

Rove has so many fires to put out at the moment that he's undoubtedly spinning - I mean really, literally, physically, spinning. This looks like it, anyway.

22. Proof That This Story Is Another Bush LIE!!!!
As posted today on teh Kansas City Star's web site. Underlining emphasis mine:

Bundled against freezing temperatures outside the White House, President Bush on Sunday extended greetings to U.S. troops cheering the Super Bowl.

“Our thoughts, of course, go out to our troops who are watching this game today,” Bush told CBS Sports in a live interview from the Rose Garden at the White House.

“Just want them to know the country supports them and we stand with them.”

Bush said he planned to watch the game with his brother, Marvin, Secretary of Commerce Don Evans and their families.

nothing he says can be taken for truth. Nothing. He has not been an honorable or an honest man all of his life and continues on in that mode. He knows nothing else and is truly the worst president we have had to suffer.

I do think if he goes on like this, he will end up in the hospital--being treated for psychiatric illness. He is just a man whose perception of reality is totally out of sinc. He is so underqualified and so far in over his head that indeed, all he knows to do is lie. Probably no one is clueing him in anymore as to what is really going on in his administration.

Pathetic little twit.

...and might I say we were both singularly (or is it dually?) unimpressed.

Given the hullabulloo today, you'd think someone had hijacked and flown a boob into Reliant Stadium, killing everyone inside.

But when we finally found a photo of the boob, the impish tip looking as if it had been ensnared in some kind of medieval thimble, we just couldn't understand. A federal investigation -- over this?

I might support a probe into why Janet Jackson girds her nipples in micro-armor, but that's no job for the federal government. Why not just let the E! channel conduct it?
