Levin: U.S. should work with Europeans on Russia
Source: AP

~snip~

The Michigan Democrat said Sunday the U.S. "cannot just go out alone on this and talk and act unilaterally."

Levin says the U.S. doesn't have much impact with "unilateral declarations anymore."

He says the nation has "got to stand together with European allies."

Levin says he doesn't see the chance of U.S. military involvement but says the U.S. needs to make clear to Russia that its action "is way out of line."

1. How about we just let the Europeans deal with it.
It's in their backyard, not ours.

7. Yes, the Repubs have never been the same
since the fall of the USSR. Having a big, hungry Russian bear to scare the folks with is like a dream-come-true for them.

4. There are no countries or boundaries for the oil/gas multi-nationals.
Our 'country' has oil interests all over the world, not least of which is in E. Europe/Asia.

9. Even more of a reason to let someone else deal with it.
We are not the only ones impacted. Europe is much closer and able to deal with the situation. Why does the US have to be involved in everything?

5. We should stay out of it!
With SNAFU gang still in charge of the government, I shudder to think what they might do.

With reasonable people in charge of the government, I would say we need to try to help. :nuke:

10. gee, when Russia called for a cease fire last Friday at the U.N. after Georgia
decided to unilaterially invade South Ossetia in spite of being advised by NATO and the UN not to, but instead settle it diplomatically

We have idiots running our country, not helping to cool down conflicts

As far as Levin and his "strong words", it will go over just like the impeachment of monkey and shooter, NOWHERE

12. Obviously a wimp...
the U.S. should take on any and every country by itself. How else could we prove how manly we are?

Just in case, that IS sarcasm.
