Rep. Feeney makes robo-calls for Curtis
Source: Orlando Sentinel

WASHINGTON -- Democrat Clint Curtis still has an ally in Republican congressman Tom Feeney.

For the second straight election, the Oviedo lawmaker has paid money for advertisements to help Curtis win the Democratic primary -- this time in the form of spam calls (available here) that laud Curtis as the “only Democrat taking on Tom Feeney that has consistently opposed the war in Iraq.”

But this is no simple act of charity. Curtis is running as an under-funded underdog to former state lawmaker Suzanne Kosmas, who poses the most significant threat to Feeney since his election in 2002. And Feeney knows he can beat Curtis, crushing him 58 to 42 percent in 2006.

Curtis seems to know it too. “I don’t think we’re friends. He (Feeney) is not the worst guy in the world, but he wants to hold on to his seat and is willing to try a few dirty tricks to do it,” Curtis said.

1. How is it possible to know if Feeney even beat Curtis?
Much less by how much.

Curtis canvassed Democratic voters and came up with more names of people who swore to having voted for him than the total of his vote (according to the voting machines counting the vote). This sounds a mite fishy to me. In fact, since Curtis has already sworn that Feeney got him to make a prototype of a program that would guarantee a victory for him (Feeney) in a future election, it seems quite possible that Feeney stole his election victory.

2. More then possible that Feeney stole it- I'd put money on it.
"Fishy" doesn't even begin to tell the story- the numbers do there were absolutely more people who voted for Curtis then the machines registered. But since no one takes Clint Curtis seriously (and he's never had the funding to really get his message out, in spite of all best efforts), Feeney will keep spinning his lies and keep winning elections- that is until his crimes catch up with him (such as his ties to Abramaoff, having Clint do the prototype back in 2000, etc.).

3. John Russell did the same thing in the 5th District.
And the results were the same as in Curtis' district. Voters in select precincts signed affidavits, and some were off as much as 30%..

John was working in conjunction with Curtis and Attorney Marc Adams.
