NY Clark backer says campaign could be over for general
http://www.newsday.com/news/local/wire/ny-bc-ny--democrats-newyork0203feb03,0,2756211,print.story?coll=ny-ap-regional-wire

ALBANY, N.Y. -- Evoking the image of Gen. George Custer's famed last stand, one of Wesley Clark's chief backers in New York said Tuesday it appeared the former general's race for the Democratic presidential nomination might be over.

"I think the general is about to meet Sitting Bull," said state Senate Minority Leader David Paterson, a Manhattan Democrat.

Paterson was referring to the 1876 battle in which Custer and more than 200 soldiers of the 7th Cavalry were wiped out by a force of Indians led by Sitting Bull at the Little Bighorn River in Montana.

"No one likes more a colorful battle reference than a senior soldier like Wes Clark, but in this case the storyteller was a little confused," said Clark spokeswoman Kym Spell. "The history of this war is far from written."

2. yes, those self important backers
those inside the campaign whiners, those predictors and wise men who tramp over to the bar to renew their shaken sense of self importance by demeaning their own candidate and all to the sympathetic ears of a grinning Corporate Pravda shill.

This is a plague in the while party, a lack at least of common sense in spreading negative opinions about Dem's in the "fair and balanced" news. The other side does a bit too, when it is REAL bad, but this is SOP routine for all garrulous and gullible Dems, especially party "professionals" who make a joke about the art of politics.

3. What a stupid remark to make, why don't the General's backers
wait until Clark has made a statement on what his decisions will be after tonight's results. Wes Clark is a classy guy and his backers should honor that. This Paterson person doesn't seem to have much faith in Wes.

4. media won!
Looks like the powers that be using the corporate controlled media are winning, Dean then Clarke, get rid of all the outsiders, keep the insider to set him up for a great fall.
Democrats need to be strong, pick your own candidate, don't let the media pick your candidate for you.
