Obama to Stephanopoulos: Palin more Bush-Cheney than McCain
Source: ABC News

ABC News' George Stephanopoulos Reports: Republican vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin is a "skilled politician," but the country doesn't know much about her yet, said Sen. Barack Obama, D-Ill., in an interview that will air tomorrow exclusively on "This Week."

But Obama refused to say Palin is qualified to be president, and claimed that picking Palin brings Republican presidential nominee John McCain closer to President Bush.

"He chose somebody who may be even more aligned with George Bush – or Dick Cheney, or the politics we’ve seen over the last eight years – than John McCain himself is," said Obama.

"She wouldn't be governor of Alaska if she wasn't a skilled politician, and I think her performance at the convention showed what a skilled politician she is," said Obama.

1. Brilliant Rove-ian move: Make their greatest asset (Scary Palin) their biggest liability.

3. Here's why Obama is throwing these jabs at Palin:
it's all about her hiding from questions.

It's win-win for Obama. If she continues to hide, she looks like a coward. If she answers, Obama and the media increase the pressure for her to answer questions.

4. Yes
and the "skilled politician" line is very smart, calculated to paint her as an operative rather than the "breath of fresh air" that the Repubs would like to have her be seen.

6. Here's The Thing: Hiding Palin P.O.'s the FUNDIES, Too!
After one week, it's clear she's their biggest asset -- yet they're going to start hiding her to prep her for the debates as best they can. The problem is, crows are showing up NOT to see McSameAsBush, but instead to see V.P. HockeyMILF. No HockeyMILF, no crowds for McSame - and then what?

So Obama attacks her on her records, but also praises her and compliments her skills ... making her absence all the more frustrating to the Repunks, and reminding them (hopefully) that McSame Still. Can't. Be. Trusted.

Neat trick, no?

just one decision she made....

it's so confusing.

she's in hiding she's sending her kid off to war but she's too busy to come in to answer questions to the ethics committee?

WTF is she so busy doing?

YELLOW PIT BULL

To me, Sarah, you're nothing but a two time loser and this november, it's gonna be three times.

9. he is right, and it's a very good way to respond because it's the truth
and how can they claim it's sexist ? hahahha.

plus it forces them to condemn their own party which only makes the case for Obama/Biden. hahhaa

Obama knows what he is doing.

10. I agree that she is aligned extremely so, but I can't help but wonder if
this just feeds into the Obama vs. Palin dynamic the Repugs want, so that McCain can just slip bye.

Ahh well, it's completely true, and the more she hides in her little bubble the more we can get away with.
