U.S. drones kill 16 in missile attack in Pakistan
Mon Sep 8, 2008 7:37am EDT

By Haji Mujtaba

MIRANSHAH, Pakistan (Reuters) - Missiles fired by
U.S. drones killed 16 people, including Pakistani
and Afghan Taliban fighters, on Monday in a strike
targeting a religious school founded by an old friend
of Osama bin Laden, intelligence officials and
Pakistani villagers said.

"There were two drones and they fired three missiles,"
said a resident of Dandi Darpakheil, a village in the
North Waziristan tribal region near the Afghan border.

A military official said a house and madrasa founded
by Taliban commander Jalaluddin Haqqani were the
targets.

Haqqani is a veteran commander of the U.S.-backed
Afghan war against the Soviet invasion in the 1970s
and 1980s, and his links with bin Laden go back to
the late 1980s.

1. blowing up people in Pakistan will produce the same results that
blowing people up in Iraq and Afghanistan produced. That is, it only makes matters worse, and continues to degrade our standing on the world stage, not to mention the fact that acts like these are war crimes.

2. Hmmm yet another Pakistan attack.
We sure have been attacking in Pakistan quite a bit.

Think the 'real' October surprise will be 'Bushies' actually getting Bin Laden?

6. Yes, according to the map makers.
According to the official government, they have little to no control over the area.

4. How many women and children
did we get this time? Can we give that government a few more atomic bombs and billions of dollars? Maybe they can bury the whole female population alive and we can quit picking them off a few at a time. If any thing is more worthless than dirt to these backward countries it's females. You know if they are raped they can be killed for having adulterous sex. Yes, folks this is they type of regime we support. Very modern, very up to date, very humane. I think this makes collateral damage ok? :sarcasm: (just in case anyone didn't catch the wanton despair) Pulls hair out and runs around shrieking.:banghead:

5. Six Pakistanis in Camp X-ray face serious charges: US ( including nuke salesman)
WASHINGTON, Sept 7: The United States has formally informed Pakistan that it is holding six Pakistanis at Guantanamo Bay prison, including a businessman, accused of exporting nuclear weapons to other countries. The list includes a so-called “high value” detainee, a nephew of the alleged 9-11 mastermind Khalid Shaikh Mohammed and two brothers who initiated a series of hunger strikes against their continued detention without charge.

In a notification to the Pakistan Embassy in Washington, the US administration identified the prisoners as Qari Mohammed Saad Iqbal Madni, Ammar Al-Balochi, Majid Khan, Abdul Rabbani, Ahmad Ghulam Rabbani and Saifullah Paracha.

The embassy, however, is urging the US administration to release all of them into Pakistan’s custody for trial.

“We are pursuing this vigorously,” said Ambassador Husain Haqqani. “We are trying to persuade US authorities to hand them over to us along with the evidence they have against them.”

Why can't they televise this like the OJ Simpson trial ?

Pakistani govt knows what Musharraf knew. Why should't they send a laywer dream team to get them aquitted?

This circus side show is ready for primetime.
Cutting deals behind closed doors got nowhere for the past seven years.
