New York Post endorses McCain, citing 'courage'
Source: AZ Daily Star

Republican presidential nominee John McCain won the endorsement of the New York Post today for his “battle-tested courage, unshakable devotion to principle and clear grasp of the dangers and opportunities” facing the U.S.

The endorsement came as McCain and running mate Sarah Palin received a post-convention bounce in some polls. Arizona Senator McCain led his Democratic rival Barack Obama 48 percent to 45 percent in the latest Gallup daily nationwide tracking poll released yesterday.

Obama has led McCain for most of the campaign, Gallup said on its Web site.
“McCain has been in Washington for many years now, but he is not of Washington,” the newspaper endorsement said. “He knows where the levers of power are located — and how to manipulate them — but he is not controlled by them.”

12. LOL...
I don't mean to get any flames but most of the Democrats voted with Bush at least 60 percent of the time.... The problem is not that McCain voted with Bush the Problem for middle America is that Obama never voted against his party....

Obama was promising a non-Partisan government and people are starting to belive only McCain can deliver that.... We need Republican Senators and Governors for Obama out front saying that Obama can bring that change to D.C.....

Its the Problem in Kansas...

18. Post used to be very liberal
During the 60's and the 70's it was the most liberal of all the dailies in NY. It changed when Murdoch bought it

8. "courage" is the thing McPOW lacks above all else
He did not have the courage to stand up to the guys who trashed his wife and daughter in the 2000 primaries. He did not have the courage to defend and insist on his first vice presidential choice. He didn't even have the courage to be honest with his first wife.

9. Isn't that the paper that printed the picture of dead John Lennon on the cover?
That's my memory, at least. A rag, to be sure.

16. Of the 3 main dailies in NYC, the Post is the last and the least and this proves it
I grew up in a New York Times reading household. My dad would get the Times every day and bring it home. Sundays the main event in the house was going out for doughnuts and the Sunday Times after mass. When delivery in New Jersey became available my mom subscribed for first the Sunday Times and later when she retired, daily delivery. On rare occasions, dad would bring the NY Daily News as well. I liked when that happened because it had comics. But, nothing could induce him to bring home the Post. As dad once put it when an acquittance asked if he had read some article in the Post - "The Post isn't even fit to wrap Hans' (our German Shepherd puppy at the time) sh*t in, let alone read." It was one of the exceedingly rare times that I heard him resort to profanity above an "oh damn" when he cut himself while cooking.
