McCain Praises Palin’s National Security Record
by Shushannah Walshe

Fairfax, VA – The McCain-Palin campaign says the largest crowd that the GOP nominee has ever seen turned up today at a park outside of Washington, DC. The Fairfax Fire Department told Fox News there were between 15 and 16,000 supporters in attendance.

The massive crowd was much more enthusiastic when Sarah Palin spoke and when she took the stage, but the audience was still very responsive to the top of the ticket. Flanked by her husband Todd, Palin said the GOP ticket is going to win Virginia, “We are so excited to be here. We also recognize that it is going to be a real hard fought contest here in Virginia, but John McCain and I are ready and with your help we will win!”

Palin is staying completely on message. Her stump today was word for word to the speeches she gave at their two rallies yesterday. It was exactly the same language and order –a slightly reconfigured version of the speech she gave at the Republican National Convention.

John McCain took the stage next and had high praise for his running mate who since her selection has nabbed him his biggest crowds in his entire candidacy. McCain touted his running mate’s national security experience. As the governor of Alaska, Palin has been intensely scrutinized because of the perception that she lacks any national security experience. John McCain clearly disagrees and while praising his number two he slammed Barack Obama’s foreign policy experience...

Yeah, the Russian hordes have not invaded Alaska because of her. She keeps us safe. Stupid senile asshole.

6. Much more enthusiastic? For heaven's sake, why?
"The massive crowd was much more enthusiastic when Sarah Palin spoke..."

I'm still trying to figure it out. McCain has spent the entire campaign, not to mention the last few years before that, pandering to the far right wing of the party. He picks this woman out of nowhere, she's got virtually no experience, is patently unqualified for the vice-presidency, let alone the presidency itself, she repeats the same neocon sermon over and over ... oh, maybe it's that last part, she's really good at telling the base what they want to hear. Clearly the base still is not fired up about McCain, but they love all the red meat they're getting from Palin, even if it's recycled red meat.

29. There are several mega-churches within driving distance...
Assemby of God, and then plus a network of others, including Ollie North's church. I'm sure that was most of the enthusiastic crowd.

This rally was to be at a school, but yesterday the school cancelled b/c of objections... so McC's cover story was that it was his decision b/c the site wasn't big enough. No doubt, the churches were called for people to make it look good.

10. It is all quite amazing
I think people are excited to see a mediocre, unqualified, politician stand for the second-highest office in the land. It allows them to believe that they're not that far off the mark.

I'm a pretty smart guy but I want somebody a whole lot smarter, smoother, wiser, better educated, accomplished, clear thinking, and better spoken than I could ever hope to be.

30. Ooo, here it is - McLame's basis for it... from his speech...
Edited on Wed Sep-10-08 09:45 PM by Waiting For Everyman
"He (Obama) was wrong on Iraq, he was wrong on Iran, and he was wrong when he made a moral equivocation between Russia and Georgia when Russia invaded. My friends, he’s wrong on national security, and he has a record,” McCain said. (Well there's all the proof against O's grasp of it.)

“This person (Palin) is right on national security and she’s been right. She understands these issues. I am proud of her.” (Well there ya have it - what more do we need to know?)

Idiot-liar. Sure, tear up the country however you want Porky, who cares?
