Russian troops withdraw from Poti
Source: al Jazeera

Russian troops have begun withdrawing from Poti, the strategic Georgian port on the Black Sea.

The pullout on Saturday was part of an accord concluded this week between Russia and the European Union.

A convoy of lorries and armoured transport vehicles was seen leaving their first camp, which housed about 70 soldiers.

2. We can feel whatever we like.
I was not feeling tense. I mostly posted it because it indicates that the deal Sarkozy cut is going to be followed now, with the usual bickering no doubt. Which means Georgia minus S. Ossetia and Abkhazia will be free of Russian troops and there will be peacekeeper/observers between the two sides, on Georgian soil. Assuming I have read it right. That seems likely to improve the odds that a repeat of the recent unpleasantness will not occur.
