Fiorina: Palin not qualified to run company
Source: CNN

WARREN, Ohio (CNN) – Carly Fiorina, the former Hewlett-Packard CEO turned John McCain Victory chair, said Tuesday that Sarah Palin isn’t qualified to run her old company.

Appearing on a KTRS Radio show in St. Louis, Fiorina was asked by the host, “Do you think she has the experience to run a major company like Hewlett Packard?”

“No, I don’t,” Fiorina answered. “But that’s not what she’s running for. Running a corporation is a different set of things."

"I would just remind you that it is Barack Obama who is running for president," she continued. "John McCain who is running for president.” ...

5. What? Running the government is different from running a corporation?
Now there's an odd admission from a Republican mouthpiece. I mean, it's certainly true, but for the last 30 years, Republicans have been touting the "successful businessman" model of their candidates, and how they'll all run government like a business.

Looks like Carly isn't quite ready for prime time. How long will the Republicans keep pushing her out there?

6. Then why was Bush's MBA touted when he ran in 2000?
An MBA is intended for the business world not for the government sector in general.

But of course, an MBA is right if you are a Republican.

18. No, she is not.
H-P Spying Scandal Began with Leak Under Fiorina
Leak Investigation At H-P Began With Fiorina’s Tenure, And Later Erupted Into A Spying Scandal. After details of the board of directors’ intentions to fire Carly Fiorina became public in the Wall Street Journal, Ms. Fiorina “demanded a confession” from the directors. Following these demands from Fiorina, an aggressive leak investigation that resulted in a “spying scandal” commenced. The San Francisco Chronicle wrote, “The spying scandal dates to early 2005, when then-CEO Carly Fiorina and other directors began looking into leaks of board deliberations to journalists. After Fiorina was fired, her successor as chairwoman, Dunn, pursued the investigation, which eventually pointed to director George Keyworth. Another director, Thomas Perkins, a Keyworth ally, left the board in protest over the handling of the probe. Dunn and Keyworth also later left after the scandal became public last year.”

23. Hi Blackops and thanks,
I was in a hurry and I really didn't get time to finish the post...so here goes.

Carly Fiorina is not a good person. She is responsible for sending thousands of jobs oversees to countries that could do the work of American HP engineers for a fraction of the price. She called it "Right Sizing". Her decision was based purely on keeping the stock price up for it's stock holders. Now with that said, that was her job as CEO, to keep the company going and to increase it's value to the stockholders. However, in my opinion, just because she was doing her job, and well I might add, doesn't mean she did the right thing.

Anyway, I don't like her, I don't respect her, but I replied to you because she didn't do the spy thing. She's done lots of bad things but she's not guilty of that one.

Take care.

13. Well, look who's talking !!! Fiorina nearly ran Hewlett-Packard into the ground
until the shareholders revolted and kicked her out - but not before she snagged a $20 million+ "parachute" for herself.

So, running the company (which Fiorina did so well they booted her, of course) is harder than running the country?

And there's no chance McCain will not be president for his whole term?

And after admitting that Palin is in no way qualified to run a big business, she's still cool with the ticket?

I'm beginning to see why she no longer runs that company...

17. Ha ha ha ha! The ego of Carly Fiorina takes over
She thinks running HP is more difficult than running the U.S.?? Her delusion is only superseded by her huge ego. Goodbye, Carly. Can't say I'm sad to see you go.

19. Fiorina: McCain can't run company either
Fiorina: McCain can't run company either
Posted: 06:10 PM ET

From CNN Ticker Producer Alexander Mooney

(CNN) — Hours after top McCain aide Carly Fiorina said Republican VP candidate Sarah Palin isn't qualified to run a major corporation, the former Hewlett-Packard CEO said she doesn't think John McCain is either.

In comments that are strikingly off message as the Arizona senator attempts to position himself as the candidate best positioned to fix the country's economic woes, Fiorina said in an interview on MSNBC Tuesday running a Fortune 500 corporation is not the same as running the country.

“Well, I don't think John McCain could run a major corporation, I don't think Barack Obama could run a major corporation, I don't think Joe Biden could run a major corporation," Fiorina, a top McCain advisor, said.

"But, on the other hand, a major corporation is not the same as being the president or the vice president of the United States," she continued. "It is a fallacy to suggest that the country is like a company. So, of course, to run a business, you have to have a lifetime of experience in business, but that's not what Sarah Palin, John McCain, Joe Biden, or Barack Obama are doing."

24. I hate to say it, but Carly actually said something I agree with
"It is a fallacy to suggest that the country is like a company."

I have longed to hear a Republican say that.
