NYT Poll: McCain struggles with Bush link (Obama 48% - McNasty 43%)

WASHINGTON - Despite an intense effort to distance himself from the way his party has done business in Washington, Senator John McCain is seen by voters as far less likely to bring change to Washington than Senator Barack Obama. Mr. McCain is widely viewed as a "typical Republican" who would continue or expand President Bush's politicies according to the latest New York Times/CBS News poll.

The contest appears to be roughly where it was before the two conventions and before the vice presidential selections: Mr. Obama has the support of 48 percent of registered voters, compared with 43 percent for Mr. McCain ...

6. Back to mid August numbers before the conventions. It is now safe to say that the McPalin bubble
has burst. The bump is gone. Fat lady spotted warming up her voice in the dressing room.

11. The race is not where it was before. Two things have changed
the game--first Palin polarized voters. Independents are going to break for Obama by early October. And second Obama has continued to register new voters. When you throw these two factors into teh mix, this is still setting up to be a landslide.

Obama is back in the lead and has the momentum going into the final weeks of the campaign.

And Obama is the change candidate 65% to 37%!

The bottom is really starting to fall out for McCain!
