Palin: Obama strategy 'wearing pretty thin'
Source: ABC Houston

NEW YORK -- Sarah Palin says Barack Obama is running as though his opponent is President Bush instead of John McCain. And she calls it a strategy that's "wearing pretty thin."

The Alaska governor says voters know McCain as a political maverick and war hero and that Obama is trying too hard to link the Arizona senator to the unpopular Republican president.

Palin and McCain appeared with their spouses Tuesday night at a fundraiser in New York. Guests paid as much as $28,500 to support the presidential ticket and other GOP candidates.

76. Ha! McInsane had to scrape the bottom of the barrel to find someone DUMBER & who has no scruples
and having a running mate who doesn't pose a "threat" to his delicate "ego"or otherwise show him up. McInsane and Palin deserve each other - they both have super-inflated egos and think they are above the law. Pretty good match, I'd say.

9. John McCain campaigned for George W. Bush in 2000 and 2004.
McCain apparently believed that Bush would be a better president than Gore and Kerry.

That is a valid issue in deciding whom to vote for in 2008.

The one regarding her unpopularity with suburban, white women. CNN reporter (can't remember his name) was in suburban St. Louis reporting on this. These ladies have big problems with Palin. What's wearing thin is the already thin veneer of integrity in which she tries to wrap herself.

16. No no no
Governor Palin, Senator Obama is running against Senator McCain's policies! Now admittedly they resemble those of President Bush, so I can understand why you are confused. I guess that's the problem when you run your campaign on attacking the individual instead of their stance on the issues.

52. Palin's complete lack of intelligence astounds me.
Do you want to know what's wearing thin?

Sarah Palin

That finely polished veneer that sparkled when she was introduced by John McCain has worn really thin. So thin that anyone that has been asleep for the past six weeks might never know that there was a polish to begin with. It reminds me of the original paint job of my old 1973 VW bug... faded, dull, and in desperate need of a redo.

61. You'd think it would almost take MORE effort - and thought - to

be so... free of useful thought. It is remarkable. The both have worn thin, but, because he is the guy vying for the number one spot, I consider this his ground game - and I hold him responsible for it's tenor, presentation, failure or success (cough, wheeze, hack!). He chose Palin, he has not challenged the hate speech being spawned or his own senseless "guilt by association" tangents.

The economy didn't tank him (it hasn't tanked Obama). He is accountable if he's telling us he is capable of leading this country. He's proven that he CAN'T, actually, do that... but he owns it. Palin is a very unsympathetic pawn in this, but she's not smart enough to understand that, and sadly, it seems as though McCain isn't either.

Oh, man, don't insult a faded VW like that...! -grin-

Call it thin and faded with Palin, on an old bug, call it patina 'till you get around to painting it. Character and all that.

71. I wasn't insulting my old bug.
I was simply being realistic. It's original bright yellow paint is now an old looking faded yellow. It definately has the cool retro vw look, but it doesn't "glow" like it once did.

I hope I haven't insulted or angered bug owners.

In an attempt at being humorous, I guess I failed... : ) I certainly didn't mean to make you feel like you'd said something wrong - I just think, when compared to Palin, anyone and anything wins, including inanimate objects because she's so, well, useless. I didn't clarify myself very well. Hope you'll accept my apologies....

The surrogate's using the term "erratic" is really starting to get on my nerves - and I don't think it sends a good message because it just seems too programmed at this point. So, that is wearing thin for me, but nothing about Obama is, has or will wear thin. I'm jazzed, man...

63. Cadence! I'd rather stick an icepick in my ear. Well, maybe not. But

I feel really guilty about this, but the way she pronounces her "ing"s is driving me NUTS! Not the hokey, forced folksiness of dropping the "g" to sound more "Pabst" than micro-brew. No, that's annoying but I think it works against her. It's the way she pronounces "ing" as "een". Aggghhh!

I have no idea why I pick up on it, or why it's driving me crazy, but it is. I feel terrible about that because it's likely just regional thing and much of my family is from the Pacific Northwest, but I don't recall hearing this anomaly.

And I wish John McCain could pronounce the "L"s in "billion", instead of saying "biyyon" (which he says - a lot). Ah, it's the little things in life that keep one going. I'm not usually this persnickety! yeesh...!

72. They are both whining about it...I interpret that to mean it is hurting them, and
that means we should repeat it as often as we can.

McCain is just more of Bush, but with a healthier VP.

Gee Willikers !

Or did you mean your nerves were wearing thin because the Obama campaign is right on target, with McLiar on tape, declaring himself a loyal Bushie who voted with him 90% of the time.

Whoops.
