McCain camp: ‘We lost the spin war'
Source: Politico.com

John McCain campaign senior strategist Nicole Wallace conceded Wednesday that the campaign “lost the spin war” by allowing Barack Obama’s campaign to brand the Arizona senator as a dirty campaigner.

“The truth is they play dirty politics, and maybe we haven't been quick enough. Maybe we don't have enough friends in the media to carry the message,”
Wallace said on MSNBC’s "Morning Joe" show. “We certainly lost the spin war about his fighting a more negative campaign. The truth is that Barack Obama has spent more money on negative attack ads against John McCain than any politician, Democrat or Republican, in history.”

Wallace blamed a double standard in the media which highlights any potentially negative mention of Obama’s race while ignoring attacks against Republican vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin’s gender.

9. Negative and Dirty campaigning are not the same thing.
The Obama camp has run negative advertising. They haven't even come close to running dirty ads.

Pointing out that Cindy McCain is a drug addict who stole prescription drugs from a charitable foundation... That would be dirty. True, but dirty.

14. McCain's camp may have been in a spin war
but I don't think Obama's team was. That's the problem with war, John, it needs at least two players. You lost because Obama wasn't playing that game. To compare insighting race riots, enflaming bigotry and providing a forum for people to shout threats against a decent man to anything the Obama camp may have done, tells the world you don't know what dirty means. When you stoop that low, you shouldn't be surprised to be covered in dirt.

The Spin Talk Express has crashed and burned.

Liars. Chicken shit liars. John McCain served his nation with honor 40 years ago and now he is a patheticmiserable cowardly liar who can't even own up to his own foul bullshit.

McCain got beat because he has a sh!tty plan, ran a sh!tty campaign, picked a sh!tty running mate, acted sh!tty to the press and the public, threw sh!t around, and then sh!t all over himself.

And now his campaign is in the sh!tter.

23. Negative does not have to be bullshit and lies and smears
A negative ad can be an honest and accurate attack on the opponent on the issues. Obama has run some really great negative ads against McFailedBadly. The attempted swiftboating of Obama over Ayers is not simply a negative ad, it is an outright and outrageous lie, a vindictive personal attack, a smear, slander, bullshit, and irrelevant, which is why their shit stinks and has failed.

25. you all lost the spin war
because you don't have shit to run on. Period.

You all underestimated "We The People"; you thought that if you took the same tack your boy bush took, it'd be smooth sailing. You came to a gun fight with nerf bats.

You don't have the economy. You don't have foreign policy. You don't have domestic policy. All you got is false character issues and every thing you throw out gets flung back in your teeth by the truth.

You thought getting some smack talking racist chick who wouldn't know the truth if it snatched back her head and shit down her throat would help you all rise above not having anything to run on, but you quickly saw that the Independents and weak republicans aren't having that this time around. You thought she would help you snatch up all of the Hillary voters, but you were wrong--and the fact that you thought so little of women and their intelligence is what did you in on this. A woman who stands in complete opposition to what Hillary stands for ain't going to get her voters.

So now, what do you have? What are you reduced to? Whining about not being smart enough to figure out that "We The People" need far more than what your side is offering for us to give up our vote to you. We already have lived through 8 years of BS; we're not interested or disposed to live through 4 more. Your scare tactics are not going to work this time around, so pack it up, try to be civil and go think about how dreadfully and drastically you went wrong and how far out you sold the intelligent American people.

The only people you can pimp this time around are the ones at your rallies screaming "kill him", "terrorist", "treason"-those who are too stupid to realize that they will be the first ones sold down the river should mclame win this election.

26. "...Maybe we don't have enough friends in the media to carry the message,”
:wtf:

Here is who is spreading McPalin's sewer-filled message (where it is assumed that the entire Fox line-up is in the tank and this is just the TV losers):

Joe Scarborough
David Gregory
Chuck Todd
John King
Andrea Mitchell
Pat Buchanan
Charlie Gibson
Lou Dobbs
Cokie Roberts
George Stephanopolis
Wolf Blitzer
Tom Brokaw
Michael Smirconish
Anderson Cooper
George Will (although he seems to be trying to jump ship)

This is just off the top of my head! Add in all the RW lunatic fringe hate talk radio bloviators like Limpballs, Miller, Coulter, Ingraham and the rest of their ilk and THAT is just off the top of my head. And there're even more lunatics writing for rags like the Washington Times, the New York Boast, and many others. And of course you have blogs like FreeRepublic and yes even Politico.

31. I am just so tired of their
bullshit. Give me a break. Right now McCain's whole campaign reminds me of a very annoying 14 year old complaining about how it really didn't deserve to fail a test and the questions were unfair and the teacher doesn't like him and his pen ran out of ink and he didn't know there was going to be a test, and he would have passed but Obama came along and wrecked the curve.

Now listen, this country has had a long eight years at work, is very goddamn tired, still has to clean up the entire economic system that you wrecked by flushing all those regulations down the toilet and causing crap to spill out and all over the country, still has to deal with all those very pissed off neighbors that you and your buddies pissed off by blowing up their countries, and has had to put up with your crappy attitude for quite some time. It really doesn't need your horseshit. Now Stop complaining or you can go to your room until November 5th.

40. So McCain's Camp Admits to being Dishonest?
This point should be played like a broken record. McCain's camp admits to being dishonest with the American people. Spin is just another word used in expressing lies and distortions. And since distortions are nothing more than twisting truths to conclude something different out of them. Spin is simply another word for lying.

McCain's camp just admitted to being liars. This point should be played like a broken record.

McCain has fought a dirty campaign and 2004 was even dirtier. The difference is that Obama was able to use the experience of 2004 to justify going outside public financing so he has enough money to protect himself.

For one of the few times in recent presidential political history, they got out-campaigned - out-thought, out-planned, out-worked and out-organized. Let them think that they are victims. The longer they think that, and brood over it, the more time they waste and the less likely they are to fix their own problems.
