With tie in the polls, Lunsford claims momentum (GOPer Mitch McConnell in trouble)
Source: Politicker

LOUISVILLE - With new numbers from SurveyUSA showing the U.S. Senate race knotted in a statistical tie, Democratic challenger Bruce Lunsford says the figures match his campaign's measurements and show the race against U.S. Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-Louisville) is swinging in the Democrat's favor.

"It's consistent with ours and the momentum is in our court," Lunsford told PolitickerKY.com about the poll showing the race tied at 48.

. . .

This morning, Lunsford addressed a meeting of the AFL-CIO's retirees council at an IBEW hall in Louisville. He told the crowd he was planning to hit several other counties throughout the rest of the day.

McConnell, meanwhile, is on the second day of his scheduled two-week bus tour, making five stops in eastern Kentucky.

When asked, Lunsford shrugged off that campaign tactic by the four-term incumbent was coming too late . . . "It's good after 5 years and 50 weeks he's going to come around and say hi to people with a two week vacation," said Lunsford.

Having Mitch lose would demoralize the GOP.

You go Kentucky, show them how its done.

11. If McConnell loses we're pretty sure to have a filibuster proof Senate majority

this race has never been rated a toss up, or even close, before now.

It would be nice to see another pollster confirm that this race is close.

20. That's the only positive I see to Lunsford beating McConnell.
But, he'll be close to a Zell Miller or a Lieberman. Too eager to please the right.

He's a Republican running as a Dem.

21. True
Just what the party doesn't need, another Bush Dog joining with GOPers behind closed doors to undermine the Democratic party.

But with Steny Hoyer and Rahm Emanuel being in charge of recruiting candidates, Bush Dogs are what they will select. Each and every time.

The bright spot is that we will no longer have to listen to Reid whine all the time about 'not having the votes'. If he doesn't have the votes with 60 Dems, then the blame falls no where but on him.

10. So very badly
I'm thinking about which upset would be the juiciest come Nov. 4th:

1) Mitch loses his senate seat, or
2) Bachman loses her house seat

I guess McConnell probably does more damage to the Constitution, living ecosystems, and my children's' future on a daily basis. Either would be sweet. Both would be sublime.

8. If it was worth it to DUers to donate to Tinklenberg, it should be worth it to donate to Lunsford

9. Being a hoosier that lives just outside of Louisville Ky,
I sometimes wish I did live in Louisville, Ky so I could get a chance to vote against both Mitch McConnell and Anne Northup in her bid to regain the seat she lost two years ago. It would be great to not have to see either ones of these two people faces anytime I tune into the local TV.

17. Hmm. Could the Dems get 60 WITHOUT Sanctimonius Joe?
Wouldn't that be a hoot? Joey wandering in the wilderness without a party to call his home.
