Obama has been using the pie image to hit back at McCain's allegation that his effort to "spread the wealth" is akin to socialism. This time it went a little further.

"Recently I heard Sen. McCain say that I'm more concerned with who gets your piece of the pie than with growing the pie. But let's be absolutely clear -- after eight years of Bush-McCain economics, the pie is shrinking. And what's left of the pie has been eaten by millionaires and billionaires," Mr. Obama told a noisy rally at Miami's Bicentennial Park. "Everybody here wants some pie. We want to grow the pie. And then we want a slice of the pie!"

And that, my friends, set off a chant in the crowd:

"We want pie! We want pie! We want pie!"

Traffic in downtown Miami will be hit with a double whammy Tuesday afternoon.

As early as 3 p.m., tens of thousands are expected to flock to Bicentennial Park, where Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama and his wife, Michelle, will headline a rally.

The rally is scheduled for 5:45 to 8 p.m.

Just a block away at the AmericanAirlines Arena, the Miami Heat will play a game at 7:30 p.m

Police say they have no plans to close any streets, except temporary closures when Obama's caravan passes through the area.

To be so skinny he sure does talk a lot about pie. He seems obsessed with it. Maybe I should take a hint from him and "talk" about pie instead of actually eating it. Maybe I would drop a few pounds.

here in Toledo, Schmuckers, that makes homemade pies every day. My husband and I took his mom there on Saturday and I had a piece of peanut butter chocolate pie. My husband and his mom had coconut cream pie. Now I want pie.

Peanut butter chocolate sounds about right. I'm going to make one tomorrow! :)

are there special seeds you buy? Are they on line and how many types are there?

Sometimes all I want is for my pie to stop going to people who don't deserve to eat it (the defense industry) and instead end up on the plate of the more hungry (education and social services).

So, I'm for a redistribution of the pie itself, not a bigger piece.

My family member who owns an espresso cafe is giving away slices of pie on election day in honor of our pie-loving candidate. I baked twenty pies Monday afternoon/evening (just got home) and expect to have to go back to make more on Tuesday.

We went to Camp Casey just before Katrina hit. We live in Houston so we were a bit anxious. The one question I ask everyone was "Why did you come here". And the follow up was "What did you bring". My fav story was the lady that had heard on the new a commentator trashing Cindy Sheehan, calling her crazy etc. Cindy and her son gave the ultimate sacrifice for this country and she damn sure had a right to as Bush or any other politician what ever question she wanted and she deserved and answer. So this lady said that after she got angry, she suddenly felt a compulsion to make pies. Lots and lots of apple pies. When Her husband came home from work, he saw all those pies. He asked if they were for a bake sale and she said no-we are headed for Texas. They spent the weekend at Camp Casey. I enjoyed one of those wonderful slices of apple pie.

Me, I brought medical supplies and worked with a group of paramedics. Best weekend I had in a while. Met great people, helped with a wedding, talked to fellow Army buds, but the thing I remember most were those heavenly pies.

Preferably Boston Cream Pie!! :)
