Ex-officer: Bush file's details caused concern
Sorry if this is a dupe.

By Dave Moniz and Jim Drinkard, USA TODAY
WASHINGTON — As Texas Gov. George W. Bush prepared to run for president in the late 1990s, top-ranking Texas National Guard officers and Bush advisers discussed ways to limit the release of potentially embarrassing details from Bush's military records, a former senior officer of the Texas Guard said Wednesday.

3. And in USA Today too now that is mainstream
too mainstrem for my tastes but the article itself states that it went widely unreported in 2000.

This is turning into a can of worms now. Not only is his acceptance going to be looked at by many people but now questions about his arrests and covering that up will too. Oh George....that's the music playing.....they want you to face it.

5. I live in Texas...
...southeast Texas. And today I saw on the local morning news at 7:30 a little blurb about this. Just the quick rundown on the news, a few sentences about each big story. The newsperson said something on the order of "Someone said that in 1997 Smirky's files were purged of embarrassing information." For that to get mentioned at the top of local news IN TEXAS made my morning commute to work so much more pleasant.

So this could be the beginning of the end. :-)

6. This is it...but we can do more
Folks, hopefully we all learned something from the Clinton years. Repetition of a theme is very effective. With President Clinton, we had a long string of manufactured scandals; one after another, repetitively rammed down our throats every time we turned on the news or picked up a paper.

With resident Bush, it's even easier - there are no scandals to manufacture. He has plenty of REAL ones. Between now and November, we all need to beat the drum nonstop. Not just on his National Guard service, but on Harkin, Enron, WMD, outing CIA agents, etc., etc.

With enough repetition, the average voter will begin to see him for who/what he really is.

7. GWBs past history would have little relevance had he governed
for we the people, I proffer, should he have upheld his oath of office to preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States rather than to emasculate the Bill of Rights, even intending to criminalize dissent; instituted sound and fair fiscal and tax policies rather than emptying the treasury and trust funds almost solely for the benefit of wealthy patrons, including large corporations; not assaulted the environment for the enrichment of patrons; not operated government mostly in secrecy; not unilaterally abrogated international treaties; not assaulted worker rights and workplace safety; not dissed the UN and most of our staunchest allies, most of the rest of the world; and not taken us to a pre-emptive war in the absence of UN sanction in seeming contravention of international and our own Constitution if there were no imminent threat, likely constituting war crimes if Justice Jackson knew of what he spoke at Nuremberg, all this to implement a PNAC vision of oil, hegemony, and empire it could be strongly argued, including that 9-11 gave him his "trifecta," that the events surrounding 9-11 are curious indeed and efforts to investigate those events have been thwarted by the Administration from day-one. But the preponderance of the evidence suggests he has and therefore, IMHO, the American people have every right to look into every aspect of his life before he assumed the presidency, but what does one citizen know?

10. His leadership is by far more upsetting to me than his partying days,...
,...and, although I realize that the political preying is now the norm, I would hope that the truth concerning his leadership is pulled of the WH closet,...not just his past.
