Sen. Craig loses bid to withdraw guilty plea
His lawyer had argued evidence of soliciting sex at bathroom was lacking

BREAKING NEWS
updated 3 minutes ago

MINNEAPOLIS - Idaho Sen. Larry Craig has lost his latest attempt to withdraw his guilty plea in a Minneapolis airport men’s room sex sting.

A three-judge panel of the Minnesota Court of Appeals on Tuesday rejected the Republican’s bid to toss out his disorderly conduct conviction.

Craig was arrested in June 2007 in a Minneapolis airport bathroom stall by an undercover officer who said the senator solicited sex.

He pleaded guilty to the misdemeanor and paid a fine, but changed his mind after word of his arrest became public. Craig insisted he was innocent, but the case effectively ended his political career.

1. A correct decision IMO.
Craig made a deal, thought it would never make the news by making the deal and keeping it quiet, and when it exploded the hell all over the place ~~ suddenly he found he had been taken advantage of.

GMAFB...:eyes:

7. Busted. Grounded. EPIC FAIL!
Sorry Senator. You've been blasted out of the closet. There's no escaping it now. Just confess and get it over with while you still have an ounce of dignity left.

18. Alas...Sen Craig REALLY DOESN'T think he's gay!
Edited on Tue Dec-09-08 11:58 AM by AlbertCat
This is the most amazing thing about this whole affair. There are men who think they can do anything sexually, but because they are married and have children, they MUST be straight. Yeah...right....

And who would even care....if he wasn't so homophobic and worked against gays. What a loser!

25. Sexual activity does not equal sexual orientation
http://www.apahelpcenter.org/articles/article.php?id=31

What Is Sexual Orientation?

Sexual orientation is an enduring emotional, romantic, sexual, or affectional attraction toward others. It is easily distinguished from other components of sexuality including biological sex, gender identity (the psychological sense of being male or female), and the social gender role (adherence to cultural norms for feminine and masculine behavior).

Sexual orientation exists along a continuum that ranges from exclusive heterosexuality to exclusive homosexuality and includes various forms of bisexuality. Bisexual persons can experience sexual, emotional, and affectional attraction to both their own sex and the opposite sex. Persons with a homosexual orientation are sometimes referred to as gay (both men and women) or as lesbian (women only).

Sexual orientation is different from sexual behavior because it refers to feelings and self-concept. Individuals may or may not express their sexual orientation in their behaviors.

---

I know thats hard to grasp but Sen Craig may not be gay - his public self-concept does not include it apparently

Edited on Tue Dec-09-08 11:29 AM by Mari333
has made an excretory decision, based on the flush of evidence presented not only in testemony shown, but also the erect stature in which the justices exemplified themselves. a penal institution may be the only recourse for mr craig.

I thought this was settled months ago. How many 'guilty' pleas did he enter? How much longer is he determined to remind the public of his wide, toe tapping stance?
