According to his office, White has signed a certificate saying that Roland Burris' appointment document is "true and accurate."

8. The Senate is now the only thing keeping Burris from being seated since the IL SOS
certified and signed Burris's appointment.

I know the Blago saga will continue but once the Senate drama is over, I don't think it will be quite as big a deal because there wont be Dem Senator missing during votes on Federal Legislation.

4. Burris May Have Necessary Document to Become Senator (WBEZ)
... Jesse White has refused to sign any appointment letter from Blagojevich, who faces federal corruption charges. But White's signature does appear on a separate document that says the appointment letter was filed with his office. Illinois Senior Senator Dick Durbin told Chicago Public Radio that may be enough for Burris to be seated in the Senate. Senate Democrats, including Durbin, have said they won't accept Burris's appointment without a signature from the Illinois Secretary of State ... http://www.wbez.org/Content.aspx?audioID=31363

11. I am really starting to dislike Durbin. He is playing games because he wants Tammy Duckworth for
that position. If he keeps it up, this is going to back fire on him.

5.  Jesse White did not co-sign Burris' appointment certificate.
He has said over and over again clearly that he would not sign the "certificate" and I believe that his word is good.

6. Senate leadership reviewing new document in Burris case (WAND)
Associated Press - January 9, 2009 9:14 PM ET

CHICAGO (AP) - An attorney for Roland Burris came forward with a document tonight signed by the Illinois secretary of state certifying Burris's appointment to the U.S. Senate.

Burris's attorney told a news conference this afternoon he already sent the document to the Senate along with an attached Blagojevich letter saying he had appointed Burris.

Actually, the paper with White's signature on it appears to be a certification that the secretary of state's office had registered the arrival of the appointment.

A spokesman for Secretary of State Jesse White says the form touted by the attorney is different from the official U.S. Senate forms White has refused to sign ... http://www.wandtv.com/Global/story.asp?S=9649521
