Army questions aspects of injured soldier's story

WASHINGTON (AP) - The Army today challenged an injured military police officer's account that he was shocked while showering in Iraq.

The investigation found Pfc. Justin Shults was shocked Oct. 18 on metal steps attached to a shower trailer. It said the shock was caused by "improperly bonded electrical conduit pipe" on the ground.

The shower trailer was not maintained by a military contractor -- Houston-based KBR.

Shults had blamed KBR.

Shults today stood by his recollection. But he also said, given the amount of time that's passed and because he was unconscious, that he could've been confused about where he was when he was shocked.
