The federal government has launched a criminal investigation into the Georgia peanut processing plant that is linked to the salmonella outbreak that has sickened more than 500 people and killed eight, officials said today.

The criminal probe will be carried out by the Food and Drug Administration's criminal division and the Department of Justice.

The FDA said there have been 28 new cases since last Sunday.

The investigation came after a fresh report about bad peanuts coming out of the Georgia plant before the health scare erupted.

2. Murder charges are in order

Management knew of the contamination and still shipped the peanuts out.

Last I heard there were 7 deaths, 5 of them children.

3. The managers are terrorists, send them to Gitmo per Patriot Act.
The managers of that GA company need to be jailed as enemy combatants for
terrorist acts against the United States population.

They knew their products were infected and did nothing. Many are dead, as a result.
Many more Americans are ill from this infected product.

This was a terrorist act, the Patriot Act can be applied to rendition the
management to Gitmo or a prision camp pending legal action.

6. Greedy criminals. Off with their heads
but the U.S. isn't like China.

But I say these bastards should eat nothing but their own tainted peanut products morning, noon and night for an entire month - no make that 6 months then let nature take its course.

Disgusting.

7. YES! Manufacturers beware. You cannot intentionally poison the public for a few extra bucks.
