Comcast wants FBI probe of Super Bowl feed interruption
Source: Pittsburgh Post-Gazette/AP

TUCSON, Ariz.-- Philadelphia-based Comcast cable has turned to the FBI to investigate how pornography interrupted its feed of the Feb. 1 Super Bowl between the Steelers and Arizona Cardinals.

Thousands of Comcast's Tucson-area customers were watching the company's standard definition feed during the fourth quarter of the Super Bowl when they were subjected to a 30-second clip from a pay-per-view porn channel.

Comcast spokeswoman Kelle Maslyn said in a statement e-mailed to the Arizona Daily Star that the company has shared its information on the situation with the FBI and will continue to cooperate fully with the investigation.

Maslyn added the internal investigation has proven the cable operator's technical systems were working properly.

1. Why doesn't Comcast investigate it themselves?
It's their feed and their problem.

2. No problem
We'll just reassign Agent Mike and Agent Dave, who were working on counter-terrorism, and get them right to work on finding out who put the porn on TV.

Idiots.

4. Comcast, it's up to you to investigate
It sounds like an employee joking around to me. I would think the way the artifacts appear at the beginning and end of the porn content would hint towards how the feed was changed.

7. tyler durden..
So when the snooty cat and the courageous dog with the celebrity voices first meet, that's when you'll catch a flash of Tyler's contribution to the film. Nobody knows that they saw it but they did.

9. How about the FCC and FTC also investigate Comcast and other cablecos for
bandwidth throttling, which they claim they don't do? Seems a university professor has already shown proof that they were lying.

11. The porn clip didn't show anything
their was implied oral sex, but the clip that aired didn't reveal any nudity or sex scenes.

13. It was tamer then some TV ads
the way the media sensationalizes it, you'd think it was an X-rated orgy.

And now the FBI is somehow involved? Christ, don't these guys have anything better to do?

14. Sounds like you didnt see the clip
There was an erect penis dangling around in the scene. There no actual sex, but a woman pulled the guys dick out and he waved it in her face.

15. Wow
I guess we didn't see the same clip. I watched the full game from a friend who recorded it in Tucson. The scene happened as you described it, but the screen was cut off at the bottom so you couldn't actually see the guys penis. I don't know maybe that's just how his DVR player recorded it.
