Rove Warns of 'Show Trial,' Says Dems 'Would Love to Have Me Barbecued'
Source: "Fox News"

Karl Rove tells FOX News he is looking forward to telling the House Judiciary Committee about his alleged role in the firing of federal prosecutors and the prosecution of former Alabama Gov. Don Siegelman.

Although he says it could turn into a "show trial," Karl Rove tells FOX News he is looking forward to telling the House Judiciary Committee about his alleged role in the firing of federal prosecutors and the prosecution of former Alabama Gov. Don Siegelman.

Until now, Rove had been shielded from testifying by his former boss, President George W. Bush, who had asserted executive privilege on Rove's behalf. But on Monday, lawyers for Bush and President Obama reached a deal that will allow Rove to be deposed by the Judiciary Committee, which is chaired by Rep. John Conyers, Michigan Democrat

"We're closing in on Rove," Conyers was overheard saying by two people just off the House floor last year. "Someone's got to kick his ass."

Rove acknowledges that Conyers probably has more interest in him than in two other former Bush aides entangled in the case, White House Counsel Harriet Miers and Chief of Staff Josh Bolten.

"I understand they may be the hors d'oeuvres, but I'm the main course," said Rove, who was Bush's top political adviser in the White House. "Some Democrats would love to have me barbecued."

27. And he's clearly tlegraphed he's going to have NO problem lying his pasty white ass off
during that deposition. And I'm sure he's already had some Bushite lawyer write him up a memo that will excuse his perjury through some kind of made-up, get-away-with-murder-free legalese.

4. Hey Karl meet your nightmare .... Rep. Artur Davis
Edited on Thu Mar-05-09 11:23 AM by Botany

Davis was born in Montgomery, Alabama, and was raised by his mother and grandmother. He graduated magna cum laude from Harvard University in 1990 and received his J.D. cum laude from Harvard Law School before returning to Alabama. He was the recipient of the Best Oralist Award in the esteemed Ames Moot Court Competition at Harvard Law School.
After working as an intern at the Southern Poverty Law Center and then as a civil rights lawyer, he served as an assistant United States Attorney.
In 2000, he ran for the House in the Democratic primary against 10-year incumbent Earl F. Hilliard. He criticized Hilliard for taking a trip to Libya in 1997 despite U.S. sanctions, but despite vigorous campaigning, Davis lost the 2000 election 58%-34%. Davis ran again in 2002 and was elected.

He and Obama are cut from the same intellectual cloth. And it doesn't hurt that he's running for Gov. of Alabama...he'll want to shine even more.

Go for it Arthur !

21. In Seigleman Rove will either have to admit to crimes or lie .....
... and be on the hook or lie and be on the hook for perjury. Seigleman will
get his pound of flash from Rove through civil court.

44. Seigleman is still considered a convicted felon
the 11th Circuit has yet to decide on his appeal. Siegleman would like more than a pound of flesh from Rove, he would like the truth and the conviction tossed.

43. Davis is very much a "centrist." Don't get your hopes up.
I used to live in his district and I remember his campaign against Hilliard. He's quite DLC.

I would love to see Davis strip the bark off Rove, but I'm not holding my breath.

26. YES! Forget the criminal activity!
Forget the lawyers ruined and the terrible thought process that thinks the Justice Dept. is for whomever is in power at the time. Forget all that anti-constitutional, un-american stuff...

It's all about KARL. They want HIM.... justice be damned.

Uh huh. Riiiiight.

Once again, the Kinsey Sicks' mellow harmonies come to mind:

"I want to be
In the GOP
'Cause it's all about
ME ME ME!"

Or a verse from the "Anything Goes" hit "You're the Top"

You're the top!
You're a dance in Bali.
You're the top!
You're a hot tamale.
You're an angel, you,
Simply too, too, too diveen,
You're a Botticelli,
You're Keats,
You're Shelly!

You're Ovaltine!

You're a boom,
You're the dam at Boulder,
You're the moon,
Over Mae West's shoulder,
I'm the nominee of the G.O.P.

Or GOP!

But if, baby, I'm the bottom,
You're the top!

(See, they understood in the 1930's, we will also today)

34. This is what the Nazi elite would have said, and probably did say. Rove's very dangerous.
But he's not the only dangerous one.

John Yoo is another. Rumsfeld is another. Cheney is another.
Bush is another. Bush Sr. is another.

"Show trials" is what you'd expect Rove to say, and if the Congress
and the people of America let this guy off, well, it's over.
