With protests outside, Bush defends free trade, Guantanamo in Calgary speech
Source: Calgary Herald

In his first speech since leaving the White House, former U.S. President George W. Bush defended free trade and free markets, railed against isolationism, and told a friendly Calgary audience that Canada should be America's major supplier of oil.

Bush, emphasizing that he was not criticizing President Barack Obama, cautioned against too much government involvement in the current economic downturn.

"It's the risk takers, not the government, that is going to pull us out of this recession. My message to policy makers is don't substitute government for the market place. Don't become protectionist. I'm a free trader to the core."

As protestors outside carried signs urging Bush to be tried as a war criminal, the former president hinted that incarcerating and interrogating suspected terrorists without trial at Guantanamo was the right thing to do.

4. It will NEVER be over until we take these
criminals to trial - if Obama won't do it and it looks like he won't, then foreign countries or the UN must begin prosecutions of the entire cabal - or maybe the lazy assed American people will take to general strikes and demand accountability (right...)

Otherwise, this will go on and on and on, and the next Repukian to be elected president, and it will happen, will be the final nail in the coffin of this country

10. I am embarrassed and ashamed that we let him in our country, let him speak, and even PAID him ...
.
.
.

So I'm not real happy with our system right now

George W. Bush should have been grabbed at the border,

incarcerated and charged under our Crimes against Humanity laws.

The fact that we did NOT do this,

means our law ain't worth shit because our leaders do not have the balls to charge him

Yeah - that's YOU Stevie Harper boy . .

I'm really pissed off we did not take the opportunity to punish this prick

That's my polite version . . .

11. Who exactly in Calgary is behind this thing? Is it the same people who sell DRE voting machines?
Just coincidence (no doubt?), but I stumbled onto some Calgary companies involved in the El Salvador election and DRE voting machines.
