SEAFORD, Del. – Three Delaware schools are on lockdown after students received text messages warning that there would be a shooting.

4. That coincided with the timing of the statewide writing tests for most grades.

Since they were high schools, tests for those students (10th grade) will determine diploma level for graduation. Some juniors and most seniors didn't have to take the writing test. When I dropped my daughter off at school this morning, 1/3 of the students I saw getting off the busses were walking away from the school, so some kids had time on their hands today.
