By Orla Ryan & Nabusayi L. Wamboka
Feb 25, 2004

LIRA – An army spokesman announced yesterday that the UPDF had killed 21 rebels who were part of the team that carried out Saturday’s massacre in Barlonyo camp.

“At 2 p.m. today, at Omot village, our forces attacked a group of rebels led by Odhiambo and killed 16 rebels,” 2nd Lt. Chris Magezi said yesterday.

He said the army recovered nine sub-machineguns, eight magazines and five anti-personnel mines.

Magezi said the army pursued the rebels up to KajiKaji village south of Acol-Pii in Pader district and killed another five rebels and recovered two machineguns. Two other rebels surrendered.
