About 10 US stress test banks need capital-source

WASHINGTON, May 4 (Reuters) - U.S. regulators have deemed that about 10 of the 19 U.S. banks being stress tested will need to raise more capital, according to a source familiar with official talks.

The largest U.S. banks have been negotiating with regulators about how much of an additional capital buffer the banks will need to sustain losses that might occur if economic conditions deteriorate further. Officials are scheduled to release the official results on Thursday.
