videos of a riot near Kent State University in April to determine if officers used excessive force in breaking up a crowd of hundreds of students.
It is unclear if any civil rights charges will be filed in connection with the police response to an annual off-campus block party that attracted scores of guests from as far away as Toledo, students said. About 50 students and guests were arrested, mostly for underage drinking and failure to disperse.
The FBI received one complaint of abuse. The agency has not opened an official investigation into the riot.
On Monday, May 4, the anniversary of the 1970 National Guard shootings that killed four students, the campus was quiet, though several students said the atmosphere has been tense over the past 10 days.
Some students said police roughed up people while making minor arrests. They said there was no violence, only people looking to have fun...
