Charlie Crist Senate Run To Be Announced: Officials
Source: Huffington Post

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — The head of the state Republican Party says Florida Gov. Charlie Crist will announce his 2010 political plans Tuesday and hinted that the U.S. Senate is his target.

Republican Party of Florida Chairman Jim Greer says he believes Crist has "concluded that the problems and issues that Floridians are facing _ high unemployment and the economy _ can't be solved in Tallahassee, they need to be solved in Washington, and I believe that's what he's going to do."

The Senate seat he may be seeking is held by Republican Mel Martinez, who is leaving office after one term.

Crist, elected in 2006, sought the same Senate seat in 1998, losing to Democratic incumbent Bob Graham.

2. Tallahassee.. this is mission control.. we have a problem
.. so far this year.. the Republicans (who squeeze the life out of every living thing in the State)... have managed to: raise hurricane insurance, raise taxes and fees on fishing licenses, license plates, college tuition, toll roads, court fees, impact fees...

Offshore drilling on resort beaches is almost a slam dunk and they propose to drug test people who collect unemployment. (of course the unemployed will have to PAY for their own tests)

Oh.. and speaking of license plates... Praise Jeebus! Be sure and stop by your nearest Seminole Indian Gaming Casino today and pick up your "official" Lucky Mega Power Ball Jeebus Lottery plate, and Win!

3. He'll be 20 times better than Martinez
the one thing about Crist is at least he'll do what's right for the people of his state BEFORE what is right for his party-I still probably won't vote for him just because he's a republican and a vow I made to myself in November of 2000.

6. That makes Florida like a lot of other states. Will he be gunning for Nelson's seat or Martinez's?

8. Is there any risk of Jeb Bush running for anything?
I'm afraid I still always think of him, when people mention Florida politics.
