CA GOP Voter Registration Firm Head Pleads Guilty to Voter Registration Fraud

Head of CA GOP Voter Registration Firm Pleads Guilty to Voter Registration Fraud
FLASHBACK VIDEO: Brad covers arrest with 'Fox News Alert' on FNC last October amidst phony ACORN brouhaha...

What's perhaps most interesting here is what isn't mentioned in this story, as written on the Los Angeles Times' "L.A. Now" blog. First, here's their entire blog item...

The owner of a voter-registration company pleaded guilty Tuesday to voter-registration fraud, according to the Los Angeles County district attorney’s office.

Laguna Beach resident Mark Jacoby, who collects signatures for petition drives, pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor and was sentenced to three years' probation and 30 days of service with the California Department of Transportation.

Jacoby, owner of Young Political Majors, registered to vote at Los Angeles addresses that were not his own. State law requires petition circulators to be qualified voters. Jacoby will also be required to show proof he is registered at his correct address.

And what they didn't bother to mention in that story?...Amongst other things, the fact that Jacoby and Young Political Majors were hired by the California Republican Party to head up their voter registration efforts in the state...

15. How about the jail time if the real crimes he committed had been charged5ged? he led a registration ...
during which voter's signatures were forged, addresses switched parties switched. Yet he was only charged with his own fake address? a misdemeanor. This man has criminal charges filed in 7 states already. One of the things his group did ont he east coast was to massively switch voter registration to votebymail. The voters, unaware that they were switched, paid no attention to their mail ballots, and when they tried to vote on election day...presto not able to vote. Here in LA County, where they registered 8000 voters, we don't know what they did, because it has still not been investigated, although voter forgery and switches were reported to both the Registrar and Supervisors around a year ago.

(Help America Vote Act of 2002).

Written in 2002 to benefit republican candidates not long after 9/11 when no one was really paying attention or even gave a fuck republicans controlled all branches of government and even trusted by most if you can believe that? - Not much has been done since as time keeps rolling along and mostly the same machines, and laws are still in place.

Democrats think all is fine, sure perhaps in a democrat landslide...but what about the many close elections that will be occurring in republican controlled precincts in 2010 and on...ah, we Dems don't give a shit republicans now have a deservedly shit reputation and are no threat anymore....these are the exact corporate republicans that are a threat.

There has to be some kind of reliable national standard & laws for all precincts across the country... i.e. the same voting apparatus and/or ballots in the smallest of precincts to the largest... such as paper ballots.... (is that even the way to go)?

25. They'll probably use all the defenses that apply to ACORN
"Did Mickey Mouse actually turn up to vote? No? Then what's the problem?

In other news, an ACORN representative was caught fraudulently registering Mickey Mouse. We ask what implications this has for the legitimacy of Barack Hussein Obama's election".

All done completely straight-faced and without skipping a beat. I mean, it's not like Fox News's core audience is smart enough to see the double standard. At least that's what they're counting on.

32. As to turning in a registration for "Mickey Mouse"
ACORN is required by law to turn in every card. The reason for this is that Republican operatives were doing voter registration drives, then picking through the cards turned in and tossing the ones where the party affiliation wasn't to their liking. So the law was passed to require every card turned in had to be forwarded to the registering authority, even the ones that were clearly fraudulent.

Republicans, ever quick to spin their own misdeeds, seized on the registrations for "Mickey Mouse" or "Indiana Jones" or "Heywood Jablome" as "evidence" that ACORN was trying to perpetrate voter fraud. ACORN does a first rate job of registering voters, encouraging people to participate in the political system who otherwise might just give up, and forcing the governing machinery to serve the needs of more than just the monied and well-connected. And that's the Unforgivable Sin that Fox and the GOP hold against them.
