Ahmadinejad to be inaugurated by mid-August, Iranian parliament announces

By Ramin Mostaghim
11:45 PM PDT, June 23, 2009
Reporting from Tehran -- Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad will be sworn in for a second term by the middle of August, the country's parliament announced today. The move was a further blow to supporters of his opponent, Mir-Hossein Mousavi, whose calls to annul the disputed results of the June 12 presidential elections were shot down by the conservative judiciary earlier in the day.

Tehran streets stricken with demonstrations and riots since the election were quiet today, with security forces arrayed at key squares and intersections and no reports of violence. Pro-government Basiji militiamen, some wearing camouflage and armed with truncheons and others in plain clothes, lined the roadway leading to Enqelab (Revolution) Square.

2. Why would you want to be seated when you know so many people hate you?
The draw of power must be so intense, all they think of is ruling the masses.

I can't even fathom how these rulers think.

7. Oh and I'm sure this will be a very public event for the whole world to witness...
unless of course it "rains".

"we are very sorry but because of the sudden and unexpected downpours, we have to hold the inauguration indoors...in a small room...with 3 people to witness it...and one camera...a phone camera. Thank you one and all. One more thing, eat shit and die. ha ha ha ha!"
