SC governor tells state agency chiefs he's sorry but everyone needs to keep working
Source: Associated Press

COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) -- South Carolina Gov. Mark Sanford is telling his state agency chiefs that he's sorry for keeping them in the dark when he went to Argentina to see his mistress.

The Republican on Friday held his typical public meeting with the agency chiefs, but started with apologies and likening his confession and future to the biblical plight of King David.

Sanford says King David fell mightily but picked up the pieces and built from there.

Sanford made specific apologizes to the head of agencies that handle his security and economic development trips, saying he put those leaders in awkward spots.

I'm sorry. Now, lets all forget what happened and the fact that I used tax money to finance my affair. Business as usual, please! :sarcasm:

1. King David eh? How about King Canute.
Next up, the Gandhi and Mandela analogies. King David, from memory, enjoyed more than one hundred palace concubines. Those were the days.

3. Good choice, "David" -- lots of mistresses & concubines, bastard children & a few foul murders. . .
of course, he leaves out the reasons for David's mighty fall, the wrath of God which his transgressions wrought, the subsequent murder of his own children and the bloody retribution he demanded against his enemies, but hey, it makes for a nice sound bite and impresses the ignorant.
