Palin confirms she plans to jump into national politics
Source: Anchorage Daily News

Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin said she's not only staying involved in national politics, but she plans to jump back into the national scrum when she leaves office at the end of the month.

The former Republican vice presidential nominee said she plans to write a book, campaign for political candidates from coast to coast -- even Democrats who share her views on limited government, national defense and energy independence -- and build a right-of-center coalition.

"I will go around the country on behalf of candidates who believe in the right things, regardless of their party label or affiliation," she said during an interview published Sunday in The Washington Times.

-----

Republican Women Federated of Simi Valley announced Palin was scheduled to speak to the group's private gala on Aug. 8 at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library in California. The event -- reporters will not be allowed to attend -- will take place in an airplane hangar that houses a retired presidential aircraft Air Force One and will stir more questions about her curious resignation.

68. Julia Sweeney on "Wait, Wait Don't Tell Me" suggested this
She said, though, that Palin would join the View when Hasselback went on maternity leave. Then Hasselback would be on when Palin next goes on maternity leave. And they'll keep switching back and forth like that for the next several years.

President Obama already has the 2012 election sewn up, but it would be icing on the cake to hand the Republicans a humiliating defeat courtesy of their favorite blow up doll

Palin will put us in the position we are supposed to be in. We will have Progressive / Liberal majorities and the Executive Branch for the next 30 years. Conservative will only be found in the dictionary

11. I don't know where the years have gone
Memories can only last so long
Like faded photographs, forgotten songs
And the things I never knew
When the skin is thin, the heart shows through
Please believe me what I tell you is true

Where's the lights, turn 'em on again
One more night to believe and then
Another note for my requiem
A memory to carry on
The story's over when the crowds have gone

All my friends have been crucified
Made life a long suicide true
Guess we never figured out the rules
But I'm still alive, my fingers feel
Gonna play on till the final reel's through
And read the credits from a different view

Where's the lights, turn 'em on again
One more night to believe and then
Another note for my requiem
A memory to carry on
The story's over when the crowds have gone
When the crowds are gone

When the crowds are gone
And I'm all alone
Playing the saddest song
Now that the lights are gone
Turn them on again
One more time for me my friend
Turn 'em on again

I never wanted to know
Never wanted to see
I wasted my time
Till time wasted me
Never wanted to go
Always wanted to stay
'Cause the persons I am
Are the parts that I play
So I plot and I plan
Hope and I scheme
To the lure of a night
Filled with unfinished dreams
I'm holding on tight
To a world gone astray
As they charge me for years
I can no longer pay

Turn 'em on again (repeat)

I never wanted to know
Never wanted to see
I wasted my time
Till time wasted me
I Never wanted to go
Always wanted to stay
'Cause the persons I am
Are the parts that I play
The parts I play

And the light
Turn then off my friend
And the ghosts
Well just let them in
Cause in the dark
It's easier to see

12. Partial Term Palin
Good old Partial Term Palin will move on from aborting her governorship to aborting her entire party.

She will go around the country on behalf of her belief in the right thing - in her case that would be money. She wants as much as possible and you will see her take it in even the pettiest amounts.

The Republicans will welcome her if only because they can never admit that they were ever wrong about a damn thing.

Go for it Sarah, we Democrats still need you!

13. As much as I cannot stand the woman, I have to say that she is a shrewd cookie. If she
had stayed on as Governor of Alaska, her ineptitude and corruption would have probably landed her in jail--or caused her to be impeached. Now she can milk any negative press that comes her way as more of the evil librul media pummeling her mercilessly. And rest assured that she will.

Right away, she's gonna make millions off a book deal--now there's a trove of irony in that, eh? She's going to hit the speaking circuit, hauling in the dough from the ignant rightwanters who LOVE her. And she's going to keep herself just visible enough to maybe make a run for the GOP nomination in 2012.

While many of us brilliant liberals are digging food out of dempster dumpsters and living in tent cities, that fascist quitter will be gittin' over.

Ain't Amerka wonderful!!

Seriously, especially if she creates a 3rd party, she will split the GOP in half.

Maybe the GOP will see the influence of the Foundies go down, which could help them rebuild their party.

34. i am relieved ...
for a few days, i was worried that Palin would clinch moral advantage by disappearing from the scene for a couple of years and turn up fresh in 2011 ... that way, she can claim that her family needed her the most & she 'sacrificed' her position to aid her family ...

the more Sarah Palin continues to be in the limelight, the lower her chances of being a viable Presidential candidate ... to me, she is the 2012 version of the 2008 Rudy Guiliani campaign ...

39. This is scary as hell.
I'm cautiously optimistic we'll be safe in 2012, but I'm worried about 2016.

Palin's almost a perfect candidate for President of the US. Narcissistic, incredibly un-self-aware, moronically self-confident.

She may be a joke on DU, but she sure appeals to reglar murcans, just like Dubya did. And while Dubya was both dumb and evil, Palin beats him on both those traits by a wide margin.

... from those who were ambiguous about Obama being President. It helps, even if it just for the swing voters because I do believe she is a walking train wreck just like Rush and Hannity. Base enablers who undermine the more moderate (and potentially successful) message of their party.

I am really glad that Caribou Barbie will be on the national scene because when she trips and falls, everyone will see it. I do not fear her. I rejoice that she remains on the national scene so that she can show just how inept she is to the world. The only person who should be worried is John McCain. 56. Radio Palin?
Maybe she'll be given her own show on one of the conservative hate networks. This darling of the dumbasses would certainly pull in the ratings. CH radio hosts say the damnedest, dumbest things daily. She'd fit in well and immediately be one of the most popular hosts. Fans would call in during the show and instead of saying "mega dittoes" like they were (are?) doing w/Rush, they'd say, "Run, Baby, run!"

After writing her book and hosting her show, she'd ride the wave of populism right into the WH. Then things in this country could really get stupid. The downward spiral, the upshot of our cranking out dumbasses who know more about when "the soul" is present in a fetus and more about Noah's ark than they do natural science, would speed up a little more.

60. Good. There's so much dirt under Caribou Barbie's carpet
that it's not even funny.

National politics would be the perfect display forum.

We were just getting started on her sorry, silly ass in GE '08 and playing 2nd fiddle to 5-plane Mccain wasn't enough to expose it all properly (or seriously). On a national stage, OH MY.

Bring it on Sista Sarah. We're waiting for you!

62. Maybe she can head the Teabagging Party officially.
Edited on Mon Jul-13-09 08:49 AM by lunatica
They could name it the Puritanical Teabaggers and finally manifest their painfully split personalities which are obviously based profoundly on their sexual hang ups. They could ask The Family in C Street to help set up their mission statement and their policies.

Apologize if this direction was already mention, but

69. My what ambitious plans we have!
Quit every job she ever had and dropped out of 4 colleges but she's going to build a national coalition!!!

This person's grandiose ambitions keep clashing with her extraordinary inability to actually DO anything. I for one will be more than happy to see this shrill hysteric vanish back into the wilds of Alaska. I am sick to death of her constant me, me, ME on every talk show and blog and everywhere else. Enough already.

74. candidates who believe in the right things,

What the hell? What makes her right? She has a viewpoint...many (most) people in this nation do not agree with that viewpoint. Why are they 'wrong'?

I have a real problem when people think they 'are right' on matters of opinion and perspective.
