Chinese migrants in Algiers clash
Source: bbc

About 100 local residents and Chinese migrant workers have clashed in the Algerian capital, some brandishing knives and rods, reports say.

Ten Chinese migrants were injured and two Chinese shops looted in the fight, Reuter said, citing a Chinese diplomat.

Violence flared after a confrontation between a shop owner and a migrant in the city's Bab Ezzouar district.

High unemployment among young Algerians has fuelled tensions over migrant workers who accept lower pay.

2. Reminds me of this country. US of A. I wonder if it's a case of
manufactured war, for the MIC. Making trouble where there is none, a litmus test. So that TPTB know for certain what move to make next. It's made me confused. Oh, that's probably what they want the populous to feel. Congratulations.

3. I've heard that there's a lot of tension between Algerians and Chinese
On the Ian Masters show on Pacifica Radio KPFK last Sunday there was a discussion about the significant involvement of the Chinese government in Africa. In north Africa including Algeria, it was said that the Chinese are engaged in massive projects to build bridges, roads, and a major highway connecting several countries. It was said that the Chinese have imported thousands of Chinese workers to handle these projects at very low pay and that the locals are not being hired at all. It was said that the Chinese government has set up secured camps to house all their workers and that they don't allow journalists inside. In fact, they treat these traveling camps, that move as the projects move, as an exclusive part of Chinese territory, like the grounds of an Embassy.

4. remember when the soviet union used to point at the USA's race problems
and say that demonstrated the failure of capitalism?

turns out that, even though we're not perfect, we (now) integrate & tolerate other ethnicities better than nearly the entire rest of the planet - maybe canada is better. because we have so much experience at it.
