(Gov) Mark Sanford's Family Moving Out

The wife of philandering South Carolina Gov. Mark Sanford is moving out of the official governor's residence with their four sons for the school year.

First lady Jenny Sanford and several other women moved clothing and boxes from the mansion in Columbia on Friday. In a statement, Sanford said she is moving to the family home on Sullivans Island, some 120 miles east, but will continue working on her marriage.

The first lady and the boys moved to the home at the end of last school year, a few weeks before her husband publicly admitted he'd been having an affair with an Argentine woman he has called his soul mate.

The Sanfords and their sons returned this week from a trip to Europe. The boys had attended a private school in Columbia.

was to solidify how they would "do" the divorce when they came home. From what I could see, there was no reconciliation, just some facts and plans for undoing. I thought he looked miserable when he arrived home.... Could be wrong I know, but experience has been a good teacher for me.. The "last family trip together" sort of thing and get the press off their backs.

Those are the people who have been "counseling" him about his martial problems. Since one of the precepts of the Family is that since Mark has been "chosen" by God, the rules do not apply to him. That, I believe, nicely reinforces his rather obvious narcissistic personality. Under these circumstances, this marriage is doomed. They may not divorce for religious (she's a devout Catholic) and/or political reasons, but the relationship is over.

had to bring boxes to move her out of the mansion? I would think the governor had staff who might assist in this activity; that is, if the governor supported the move. How does it to continually stink more?

A PRIVATE school for the boys? Didn't they want their children to experience the fine SC public education system that Mark has done so much to improve? ;-)

Wife Of South Carolina Governor, Who Conducted Affair With Argentine Woman, Vows To Continue Working On Marriage

(CBS/AP) The wife of South Carolina Gov. Mark Sanford moved out of the official governor's residence with their four sons Friday, a little more than a month after he admitted to a yearlong affair with an Argentine woman he called his "soul mate."

First lady Jenny Sanford and several other women moved boxes and clothing from the governor's mansion in Columbia. In a statement, Jenny Sanford said she was heading to the family home on Sullivans Island, some 120 miles east, for the upcoming school year.

"From there, we will work to continue the process of healing our family," she said. "While we will be leaving Columbia, we will return often, and I will remain engaged in activities in my role as First Lady, acknowledging that my responsibilities to my family come first."

Mark Sanford issued a statement saying his wife's statement "speaks for the family, on this decision that we felt best, both for our process of reconciliation, and for the boys in the upcoming school year."

She's doing the right thing, imo. I'm sure it's difficult. But it's the right thing to do given the circumstances.

She stays married to him in name only so that money keeps coming her way and prestige while staying out of an embarrassment publicly. When she didn't seem to give a crap about him being gone for so long, this is what I immediately thought of.

But it does seem strange that she didn't just hire a moving van -- even though I admire the solidarity of her gal-pals schlepping boxes with her.

I know a lot of marriages go through this at one time or another...some manage to survive, others don't.

The gov. does not feel the need for her in his life right now. The wife needs to stop embarrassing herself and her sons. You can't make someone love you. Darn he told her dad how he feels. Let everyone try to find some happiness.

His wife and family are the victims of his affair.
