Pakistan: Suicide bombing kills at least 6 in NW

PESHAWAR, Pakistan — Pakistani police say at least 6 people have been killed in a suicide bombing in a town outside the northwestern city of Peshawar.

Police officer Shafiullah Khan says a bomber drove a truck into a fuel station and detonated explosives Monday morning, killing six people and wounding eight others in the Shabqadar area of Charsada district, next to Peshawar.

Khan said the dead included the children of a woman filling her car with fuel when the truck exploded.

No one claimed immediate responsibility but the area lies next to the tribal regions dominated by the Pakistani Taliban, who have vowed revenge following the reported death of top leader Baitullah Mehsud.
