Republicans want answers on White House e-mails
Edited on Mon Aug-17-09 03:16 PM by sabra
Source: AP

WASHINGTON — A mass e-mail from a top adviser to President Barack Obama has the leading Republican on a House oversight panel looking for answers.

California Rep. Darrell Issa is asking the White House lawyer for details about a health care overhaul e-mail signed by Obama adviser David Axelrod.

Administration officials say the e-mail was sent only to people who signed up for a White House e-mail list that is typically used to provide updates on the president's speeches.

Issa on Monday cited reports that some people received the e-mail even though they never signed up. Critics say that suggests the White House combined its taxpayer-funded list with member rolls from other political groups.

5. The repukes will spend months and millions of dollars
investigating these bogus allegations, the talking heads on all the networks will be chatting up this imagined scandal everynight.

And the Democrats will leave this President abandoned and twisting in the wind, just like the last Democratic President.

32. The repukes will spend months and millions of dollars
Uh...

No they won't.

The Repugs may spend months but since they don't hold the purse strings... like they did during the Clinton years, they won't spend a dime, unless it's their own money, and they are welcome to do that. They can waste it all on bogus investigations.

Also, unlike the Clinton years, a lot of people know they spent 70-something million of our tax dollars investigating a blow job and then had the nerve to say "We could get Clinton, but, uh, we don't want to now."

Morans! Losers! I might understand how these troglodytes might think it would work again, but why YOU would think the same tired tactics might work is beyond me.

36. I know that these tactics won't work on us,
but these tactics will work on tunnel-visioned repukes! They'll draw all the attention and energy away from important issues (like healthcare and troops in Iraq and the economy) and smother us with the minutiae of all the imagined crimes that the Obama administration is supposedly trying to hide.

And their kookie theories will get traction, too! How much time, for example, has been wasted on hate radio and cable talk shows about Pres. O's birth certificate?

19. My thoughts exactly.
Good Bertrand Russell quote too by the way.

It was also Russell who said, "If one man offers you democracy and another offers you a bag of grain, at what stage of starvation will you prefer the grain to the vote?" Hard to believe he didn't say that in reference to Conservative warmongers.

23. Gibbs was really caught with his pants down on this one
It may seem inconsequential that email addresses were farmed out but others will work themselves into a later over it (real or pretended) and Gibbs did no favors for the White House by castigating the reporter who brought it up--and probably put a chip on the guy's shoulder to engage in more muck raking.
