PITTSBURGH - A gunman who committed suicide after killing three women and wounding nine others at a Pittsburgh-area health club on Aug. 4 wanted to leave his estimated $225,000 estate to the University of Pittsburgh.

Court papers were filed Friday by estate executor Michael Sodini. He is the brother of 48-year-old George Sodini, who shot the 12 women Aug. 4 inside an LA Fitness club.

A legal expert told the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review the bequest is likely moot, because Sodini's estate would probably be used to pay damages in any lawsuits that are filed. A university spokesman also said he wasn't sure whether the school would accept the money.

According to the local paper, Sodini's last will and testament was dated Oct. 26. He did not mention why he wanted to leave his money to the university.

Sodini graduated from Pitt in 1992 with a degree in computer science. He had worked as a systems analyst at a Pittsburgh law firm since 1999.

All the money should be split among victims & for those killed their families. One woman was a single mom with a 15 year old son. One that was wounded friends & family were doing a car wash to help pay her medical expenses. At least this b*stards money should be given to them.

1. Regardless of whether the Will was valid, the estates of the murder victims
should sue his estate for wrongful death and collect from any heirs and/or beneficiaries before the estate is settled.
